Generally speaking, teams that get a run of good results to pull themselves out of trouble have enough quality in their side to do so.

I know Fulham were busy in the summer transfer market but that great run at the end of last season has been the precursor for a pretty good season this time round.

Watching Newcastle last night, the pace seems to have gone out of the side and if you cannot hurry your opponents into mistakes, the chances of getting a good run going is pretty slim. Not only that, but the midfield and defence were losing the ball far too easily and their attempts at hitting long balls were just woeful in both distance and directon.

I would hazzard that Boro or even the Baggies might be more capable of putting a run of unexpected wins together based on last night. Only their managers are probably not capable of doing what they need to do.

The magic of Shearer has now produced no wins, two draws and two defeats.

I walked past Tony Mowbray on Sunday as I went to the Rover Store. He must have been coming to have a look at the last Premiership ground he's going to see for a while!!!

i'm not taking our survival for granted until it's mathematically impossible to go down.

OK, so we have a six-point buffer and the bottom 3 are in wretched form. But anyone who has followed Blackburn for any length of time will tell you that we make it look easy then we start screwing it up then we just pull it out of the fire at the end.

So I'm not crowing yet.

i will you this, dont expect them to just roll over Fulham and Boro.

Fulham have played some nice football away from home and under Roy they are quite a formidable team. They have power up front whereas barcodes struggle in defence. They are good at the back whereas the barcodes are powder puffs up front. In Murphy, he alone can control the midfield whereas barcodes simply dont have one.

Boro is going to be the biggest 6 pointer for many a year. A loser will go down. Boro have players that can hurt you up front, they have power, pace and a good defence (against lesser teams). It will be one nervous game where 1 chance taken will take the points. It has draw written all over it.

I fancy barcodes to only take a point at Villa because I think both Fulham and Boro will win their games, I most certainly see their goal difference taking a spanking at Liverpoo.

If Rovers can take a point at City, and that will be hard, then barcodes will have to win all 3 remaining games to even stand a chance of staying up unless someone like Hull or Sunderland capitulate.

Its squeaky bum time in the north east :rolleyes:

Haven't Hull already capitulated?

Think they'll be the ones to get sucked into it with the loser of the Boro v Newcastle game.

I don't like his attitude that we're safe now, I was thinking about it last night, assuming us, Boro and Toon lose on saturday then Toon beat Boro and we fail to beat Pompey then they will be only 3-4 points behind with a much better GD and our next game is Chelsea away and theirs is Fulham at home.

The gap can still be closed if we get complacent.

Thought that for a while to be honest, what a wretched run Hull are in, it's a shame considering there early season success but i really do think they will go along with one of the North East clubs, too close to call which one though.

how are they going to pick up points from fulham and villa?

Brum did with us remember last season when we were pushing for Europe. Rem also WHU winning away at OT after MU had won the title. Strange results happen all the time in late April and May.

Very wise.

Hull City have had the WORST luck with officials this season, more so than any other club any season. It's like Rovers Vs West Ham a couple of seasons ago, only it happens every week.

Vs Liverpool at the weekend, Liverpool scored 2 goals which should never have been, taking Liverpool's tally of 4 goals that should never have been, against Hull City this season.

(1st goal, Mascherano fell over his own feet, so shouldn't have resulted in a freekick - 2nd goal Boateng was fouled in the build up to the corner, the corner wasn't a legitimate corner as the ball was taken about 2 yards out of the 'D' and Lucas also handballed it before the goal.)

week before Vs Sunderland, the only thing that parted the 2 teams was an offside goal.

I think I could name a major incident that has wrongly gone against Hull City in pretty much every match this season and only 1 incident in favour (Geovanni coming back from an offside position Vs M'boro).

Jeff Winter's 'league of injustice' isn't exactly a great point of proof, but last weeks table showed Hull City in 12th, when in reality are 17th.

Look at the Fair Play league; 'Behaviour of Officials' - 127, the next nearest is 145!

I watched the full 90mins of Hull City against Liverpool and although it doesn't look it on Match of the Day, Hull City had Liverpool on the backfoot for the full first half and it was quite an equal game in the 2nd. Benitez had to resort to saying the pitch was bad to cover up his team's poor performance - quite funny as it was nice and flat due to his players rolling all over it.

It wasn't exactly exciting either ...

It looked pretty much like many Premier League games to me - the away team setting out to sit back in two rows of 4 and defend, hoping to keep them out with sheer weight of numbers and get a lucky break at the other end. It worked but I'm not sure it was the right plan, unless they're planning to play like that at home as well and hope for the lucky break or a win on penalties. If Chelsea push our more at home they may score but I can't see them stopping Barcelona if they give them a bit of space and they will have the away goals.

Really cowardly gameplan from Chelsea, with so many attacking players, they could have easily played like they did against Pool at Anfield. Instead they defended with 9 men, kicking the Barca players at every opportunity, with the referee gleefully unaware. Henry should have had a penalty and I dotn know how Bosingwa wasnt booked for his cynical trip on Messi, which would have shackled his game early on.

The 2nd leg should be interesting, Chelsea should be able to score at least twice if they decide to attack, while Barca are capable of scoring at least once....

Says more about teh league than it does about us.

i'm expecting some serious cash to be spent in the Summer. I'm getting sick to the back teeth of this ######.

So you must be expecting a takeover then. The current owners certainly won't be offering anything useful.

Why does nobody get rid of this bloke from the forum. I mean seriously, the only contribution he ever makes is to provoke people regarding a takeover. His frequency is absolutely startling and I don´t think he´s ever missed at the slightest sniff of a chance.

He has no positive input whatsoever and is surely here to wind people up.

Go and find somewere else to talk your tripe Vingee
