Guest Vinjay606 Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Somebody made a remark about expecting serious cash to be spent in the summer. I pointed out the correct scenario that being it is only likely to happen with a takeover. I'm not apologising for making a response.

Backroom Tom Posted May 2, 2009 Backroom Posted May 2, 2009 As far as other teams go so far so good for us, now we just need Evert, Villa and Liverpool to do us a favour and it could be one week closer to safety with no points gained on us. The fact remains even if Sunderland, hull and Newcastle win this is still firmly in our hands. Fingers crossed.
Iceman Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Not premier league related, but who else is watching el classico. Damn its been brilliant to watch, and who cares about defenders. Lol attack attack attack.
OscarRaven Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 I'm expecting some serious cash to be spent in the Summer. I'm getting sick to the back teeth of this ######. And I want season ticket prices slashed, shirts to be at a reasonable price, a club owned shop, the riverisde stand re-building, better marketing, improved sound system, the youth system overhauling, a more experienced and better paid chairman, world class players, cheaper pies, more choice of lower cost beers, better season ticket technology, more 3 games for 20 quid packages, away fans allocations to be restricted.... I want, I want, I want....... Why don't you offer up some solutions Veruca Salt?
Guest Vinjay606 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Yes it's too much to ask for perhaps wanting a decent transfer budget from owners with a considerable fortune. Now people with virtually no money like Bill Fox get sit down protests staged against them. How exactly does that policy work out then?

I want, I want, I want....... Why don't you offer up some solutions Veruca Salt? Don't be a puff. Spending some money *is* a solution. I know the trust is as tight as two coats of paint, for its own good reasons, but money does need to be spent, because the alternative is relegation which they wouldn't be too happy with as they're gagging to sell the club and that's hard enough to do as it is. I've been quiet about the money-spending issue up until this season, but I've had enough now. I'm frustrated with it all. if you're happy to carry on watching this muddle, good for you. Why you're characterising me as Verucca Salt I have no idea, because i'm not normally given to whinging. there's absolutely no buzz about the club at all, it's awful.

Amo Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Looks like a do-or-die formation from Shearer. He's gone for three at the back, with Duff and Lovenkrands playing wing-backs.
Lurid Coat Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Newcastle starting with Duff at left back. Here's hoping Liverpool will tear them apart and take away what little confidence they have left.
The1mattjansen Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 I think Newcastle will get something today, I really do. Without Torres up top Liverpool can easily be frustrated going forward, and with most of their threat coming through the middle, Butt, Smith and Barton will be instructed to run around like animals and stop them playing. I fancy a 1-1 draw or Newcastle to sneak it 2-1.

Lurid Coat Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Excellent, Liverpool 2-0 up now. As for the Championship: Preston 1 - 0 QPR, Burnley 0 - 0 Bristol City. Would be well funny if Preston managed to nick the 6th place right in front of the Dingle noses! Edit: Oh hell. Burnley 1 - 0 City.
grizfoot Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Could do with Liveprool getting a couple more, really worsen Newcastle's goal difference.

Don't really see what the last 2 have to do with "premier league happenings." Excellent news from Anfield.Don't see Newcastle as a threat to BRFC at all. Hopefully though Liverpool can keep going and just maybe Man United will slip up hopefully.
Lurid Coat Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Don't really see what the last 2 have to do with "premier league happenings." If you'd actually bothered to read the thread, you'd find that it isn't strictly Premier League related. Also, Burnley and Preston are fighting it out to gain promotion to.... yes, exactly, the Premier League. Always happy to help, Vinjay "Boothroyd"!

Hopefully though Liverpool can keep going and just maybe Man United will slip up hopefully. Give over Vinge. Let's not be picky. By the way, if Shef Wed and Preston win 1-0, Preston and Cardiff will have the same goal difference, goals scored AND goals against. On the head to head, Cardiff one their home game 2-0, Preston won theirs 6-0 and should therefore have the last play-off spot. Anyone know if this is how it would be decided? Worth keeping an eye on the Cardiff game - particularly as it looks like the Clarets have sealed their place. Potential for a Preston-Burnley play-off final!
modes98 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Liverpool should be 5 or 6 clear now. Playing well but Newcastle aren't very good.
dr_awol Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Don't really see what the last 2 have to do with "premier league happenings." They could affect "premier league happenings." next season. which one will give us 6 points cant see any team below us getting 2 out of 3 wins.
modes98 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Vinjay I think your the last person who should be lecturing about taking topics off topic! Birmingham coming up by the looks of it. Even if Reading can get another Sheff Utd are drawing.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Wolves, Birmingham and Burnley are coming up. Crap on a crust.
Bobby G Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Burnley and us next season in the Prem, now that would be nice... And whilst one big club is going down, another comes back up...Not the same without that Bruce at the helm though. They were a perfect match.
