Rovermatt Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Newcastle's pasting yesterday casts them further towards relegation. Arsenal on the other hand will finish this season once again wondering how they threw it all down the toilet. United, inevitably, are waiting in the long grass.
Exiled_Rover Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 oh dear me. 3rd straight 4-0 loss for the Hammers. And we have them next. Argh. Guaranteed win against t'Rovers then.
RevidgeBlue Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 A very good point for Wigan v L'Arse. As much derision as Bruce receives on here, I think he's done a superb job at Wigan, they looked dead and buried when Hutchings was sacked. I would suggest the result also illustrates my point about the Prem being relatively competitive.
Eddie Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Everton are just too consistent I'm afraid. It's between them and Pool for 4th. Personally, I'm rooting for the Toffees. No thanks. If Everton get into the CL it will make our life all that much harder. We'll never compete with Liverpool, so keep the top 4 as it is and let the rest of us battle it out. I dislike the bigger clubs more, but they aren't our rivals so I wish them all the success in the world against anyone we are really up against.
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Hmm Villa losing 1-0 to Boro, fingers crossed the scoreline stays as it is. Portsmouth 2-1 Birmingham, 2 goals for Defoe. Could do with Birmingham getting a point or more off them.
B.R.F.C Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Seb Larsson has just equalised for Birmingham so its now 2-2 Still Villa 0 Boro 1 Wouldn't be bad if those two scores stayed the same
herbergeehh Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Great results at the moment. Is Larsson playing the right midfield role for Birmingham? Looks sharp at set pieces.
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Damn Portsmouth 3-2 up, Hermann Hreidarsson. Looks like Larsson is playing on the right. Not a bad player from what i've seen of him. Villa equalised with a penalty, 20 minutes left.
USRoverME Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Arteta for Everton, puts then 2-0 over Fiorentina, and 2-2 on aggregate. pen at Villa - now 1-1
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Villa lucky?: 2117: GOAL Aston Villa 1-1 Middlesbrough A very harsh decision as a shot hits Luke Young on the elbow when the defender was looking the other way. Gareth Barry buries the spot-kick to give Villa a rather undeserved equaliser. Poor Derby, 6-1 down to Chelsea
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Good result for us Villa drawing 1-1 with Boro. It puts them just three points ahead of us on 49 points. Portsmouth winning wasn't great for us, but they are only a point ahead of us on 47.
herbergeehh Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Makes the two lost points against Team America even more annoying, but City and Aston Villa losing points is brilliant. Especially Villa is a worry imo, if we can get a decent finish I think we'll end above Pompey and City comfortably.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Playing for Derby........or............sitting on the Rovers bench for a few games & then fighting for a first team place... Poor Savage. I hope he has no regrets!
herbergeehh Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 No signs of it, judging from what he's said about that transfer anyway. McEveley on the other hand..
Tim Southampton Rover Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Everton out of UEFA Cup on pens.... Tottenham currently in sudden death pens...
Tim Southampton Rover Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Tottenham out on pens. Chimbonda misses with a dreadful penalty
Bing Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Chimbonda strolled forward like it was all too much effort. He really is a terrible professional.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 For all those who hated seeing Spurs fans celebrate their cup win and boasting about them being one of the best teams in the world again, turn to channel 5 to witness thousands of gutted fans. Brilliant TV!
herbergeehh Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Everton has every right to feel hard done by after this game, but in the end it's the two games, the extra time and the penalties as a whole that matters. Brilliant save by Frey in the end.. Captain Jenas didn't make the grade, sayonara Spurs. In fairness to Chimbonda, I think he was ###### his pants all the way there. Penalties, what a way to award a winner
Tim Southampton Rover Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Everton were superb tonight but once they went 2-0 up, they just couldn't put away their chances and to be fair, Frey played very well today and pulled off some good saves. Did anyone see Berbatov's goal? Excellent finish!
rover6 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Chimbonda strolled forward like it was all too much effort. He really is a terrible professional. I wonder if he asked for a transfer as he was walking down the tunnel. BTW: if you think Chimbonda ain't all great, what about our ex-hero, Jay McEveley and Derby crashing horribly versus Chelski? 4.44 on the BBC website player rater. Only slightly ahead of Robbie Savage's 4.43.
