b12_simon Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Rovers fans in away end at Brum beware. Not only will you get arrested there will also be football banning orders applied for ! away fans are not to be toerated in home areas for what could be a volatile atmosphere should Brum face the drop !!! You have been warned Not to mention several Brummie feet in your ass. Could be hard keeping a straight face as full time draws near! I've sat with the wrong supporters once - when we tanked Forest 5-1 at the City Ground in 1995(?). Never again!

gumboots Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 so is there a problem now with Rovers fans in the away end i.e. our end at St Andrew's? That's what your post says!

Hughesy Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 City in Europe via Fair play - UEFA have confirmed place will go to england and City currently lead with 1 game to go - see bbc website
Rover9 Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 City in Europe via Fair play - UEFA have confirmed place will go to england and City currently lead with 1 game to go - see bbc website Is that not from next season (the extra UEFA cup place), sure it said something about Citeh being the team that would have gotten the place if the rule counted this season for English teams? I have just checked and its as you say, City at present are the team to qualify through that route.
philipl Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Citeh players will be in a quandary on Sunday- be fired up for Sven or be pussycats to hang onto that UEFA Cup place. I reckon Boro could play the tea ladies and still walk an easy win on Sunday- SGE will tell them not to jeopardise their Fair Play place.
RovertheHill Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Isn't this the second time in recent years they've got into Europe through the fair play route - what next, "Cleanest Kit" award On a different note, there is an interview in the Sunday Times with Bobby Robson which I think is superb. I remember somebody on here commenting on Ferguson (may have been Jim?) that he was a great manager but not a great man - well I don't think that anybody could argue that Robson is both. It will be a sad day when he finally loses his current fight with cancer
Grabbi Graeme Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 As it stands with 45 mins to go Man Utd Champions Everton 5th Aston Villa 6th Brum and Fulham relegated But a lot can change in 45 mins
brian_gallagher85 Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 The JJB pitch has turned into a swamp at HT
Rovermatt Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I'm just sick, sick, sick of United. How they've won it this year I'll never know.
philipl Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Truly remarkable but the promotion class of 2000/1 all stay together up in the Premier League. No way would that have looked possible a month ago!
brfcshabba Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Will Man City's red card effect their fair play status?
philipl Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Will Man City's red card effect their fair play status? I think they needed a Christmas postman to ref the match to slip behind Fulham so I don't think it was enough. Incidentally, I am rather thinking Cardiff could upset Pompey in the Cup Final next week.
Grabbi Graeme Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Interesting interview with an emotional David Gold, he and Sullivan are not happy about the fans turning on them at the end of the game, Gold said he didn't want to be anywhere he's not wanted, also Sullivan is ready to walk away from the club
Eddie Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 I'm just sick, sick, sick of United. How they've won it this year I'll never know. By being the best team over the course of 38 games. Arsenal were the best for the first 20ish games, Chelsea were the best for the last 5-10, but over the course of the season they regularly played the best football and did their job.
1864roverite Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Who cares about United ? The only reason brum fans are unhappy, especially the female supporters, is that the promise of cut price sex aids has had to be withdrawn as they went down. They wont feel as shafted as their male counterparts !!
1864roverite Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Next season the Premiership will have 3 mini leagues within the Premier League. Top 4 - Manure, Liverpoo,Chelsea and Arsenal. Teams 5th - 12th - Everton, Villa,Rovers,Portsmouth,City,Spurs,Wham,Newcastle Bottom ringers - Boro,Bolton,Fulham,WBA,Stoke,Sunderland plus 1 other. So its all to play for next season

So its all to play for next season Boro and maybe Sunderland will join the middle group and one maybe two of the middle group will have a truly bad season. Other than that, the table is set in stone.

Notlob have realised recently that in their case it's simply the manager!
Bing Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Great gesture from Olof Mellberg today... Olof's Parting Gift Olof Mellberg Fans arriving at Upton Park this afternoon were treated to a parting gift from Olof Mellberg as the Swede gave every single member of the travelling Claret and Blue Army a Villa shirt. Just over 3,200 Villa fans made the trip to West Ham for Mellberg's final game before a summer move to Juventus - many of them dressed as Vikings in honour of the Swedish international. And Mellberg decided to show his devotion and gratitude to the Villa faithful by saying farewell in style. The shirts, a combination of home and away tops, were printed 'Mellberg 4 - Thanks For Your Support'. The Swede told www.avfc.co.uk: "This is just the perfect way to say goodbye to the fans and to thank them for all their support in my time at Villa. "I've been asked for lots of shirts over the years and sometimes I have been able to help, sometimes I have not been able to help. "I wanted to do something special for my last game and this just seemed like the perfect idea. I have loved my time at the club and have had a great relationship with the fans."

So if Arsenal were the best for 20 games and Chelsea were the best for 5-10 games then United were the best for about 8? You're right though. They lasted the distance, safe in the knowledge that their rivals would give it to them at some stage.
