Majiball Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 No. It's now an automatic group phase place. So why are Arsenal playing the wally with a brollies team?

awhom111 Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 So why are Arsenal playing the wally with a brollies team? That's for the 09-10 European cups. No more Intertoto and the UEFA Cup format changes too.
CrazyIvan Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 It's still getting worse for Thaksin..... The Supreme Court's section for political office holders on Friday agreed to open a new case against ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra on charges of abuse of power in pushing a state loan to Burma to help his family's telecoms empire. The court set September 16 as the first day of the trial which will examine whether Thaksin abused his position as prime minister when he ordered the state-owned EXIM Bank to extend a loan of 1 billion baht (30 million dollars) to Burma's military regime in 2004 to develop its telecommunications infrastructure to the benefit of Shin Corp, then owned by the Shinawatra family. So Sparkys wages come from alleged illegal loans and monies allegedly stolen from the Thai Lottery. Not to mention the sale of land owned by the state to his companies and family for peanuts. This has already been proven. Meanwhile the average wage in the country is £120 per month. Still smiling Sparky? On radio this morning that Frank is looking to sell Shiteh... 'There may be trouble ahead...'
hawkiiz Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 can anyone tell me what spurs are thinking about? they have two keepers. fair enough. and they have a LOT of defenders, but are any of the any good really? woodgate is class. the same is bale, but the other TEN? who are they gonna play? king and dawson? haha not to scary! midfield is PACKED aswell. but to be fair they do have a decent lineup, but 11 midfielders is a tiny bit over the top! they have bentley, modric and dos santos, lennon and jenas plus a bunch of average ones. and only two strikers! darren bent being one of them. how are they going to set the world alight with only half a team that is really good??? those people cant be for real. hotel spurs: http://www.skysports.com/football/squad/0,...2,11675,00.html

Woodgate and King are bound to get injured at some point and the rest of their central defenders are crap.
Eddie Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Losing Keane will be huge for them. He'll be tough to replace and he'd need to be replaced with a striker, not a midfielder.
hawkiiz Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 its all a bit weird. i have been thinking that they should have a great team this season, but then i had a closer look and all they have is modric and bentley who will be great in midfield, and berbatov up front. they must have some of the largest squads in the prem, but it is packed with half-decent players. and only two real strikers??

Woodgate and King are bound to get injured at some point and the rest of their central defenders are crap. Maybe that's why they are being linked with Corluka, I rate him. King and Woodie are bound to get injured as always, there defence is there achilles. its all a bit weird. i have been thinking that they should have a great team this season, but then i had a closer look and all they have is modric and bentley who will be great in midfield, and berbatov up front. they must have some of the largest squads in the prem, but it is packed with half-decent players. and only two real strikers?? Dos Santos looks a good player, I also like Huddlestone. They'll be there or there abouts this year, but as always they'll lose to the Rovers!
joey_big_nose Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Spurs first team is high qualtity going forward: -----------Bent ---------------Dos Santos ---Bale-------Modric---------------Bentley -----------------------Zakora Gilberto----Woodgate---King----Hutton ---------------------Gomes It is hard to argue that the team does not have real quality. Plus they will sign at least one big name striker, maybe two once Berbatov goes. As others have pointed out they do have problems defensively. There is not a lot of bite in that tem, Zakora has failed to convince as a defensive player, and having such a ridiculously large squad causes issues as players dobn't get enough games, get injured and get unsettled and create discord. If they go out and sign a proper left winger as it probs on the cards too, plus Corluka, then a lot of players are not going to know where they stand. What is the future for Lennon, Jenas, Boateng, Dawson, Roche, Gunter? If they sort themselves out they can be a very good side, but I can see them running into the same problems again and again.
Nelsta Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 West Ham have rejected a 15 million pound bid from Spurs for Ashton.(allegedley)
AndyR Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 The pigs feet have signed Danny Shittu from Watford, the headline on Football 365 reads S****y boss signs Shittu player for s****y club - couldn't have put it better myself!
den Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 The full M.E.N. take on the City situation. The citizens are certainly despondent about the whole affair. One of the commentators below the article isn't happy that Ince is signing Annan, - another one of their targets.
brfcshabba Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I see Steven Ireland has shaved his head. Or has he just taken his wig off...
RibbleValleyRover Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Things aren't looking good for Everton and their stadium plans: http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/stadium-called-in.html also http://www.nsno.co.uk/news-3657.html "Everton's proposed move to Kirkby has been "called in" by central government and will face a full public enquiry which could delay the scheme for up to 18 months. Keith Wyness, Everton's former CEO, had gone on record stating that a government call in would kill the scheme off from Everton's point of view as the increasing costs would take the scheme out of Everton's reach financially."
67splitscreen Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 I really don't like this story on Berbatov. Berbatov: Barça Over Man Utd I'm still not sure Roque is as safe as some media say. Pennent, I can't see us getting him on the cheap, if link is true. Hammers Join List Of Pennant Admirers
SundayMondayHabibBeye Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Deportivo's Official website has just confirmed that Newcastle's transfer of Coloccini has been completed. A lookalike of Bafetimbi Gomis was spotted by the TV cameras at tonights game. Also Alan Smith was omitted from the 18, so his transfer to Everton could be on.

The transfer window has not closed yet. You should not speak too soon. You need to be afraid Hawkiiz....... and possibly very afraid.
Wolverine Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Deportivo's Official website has just confirmed that Newcastle's transfer of Coloccini has been completed. Thank god for that - I thought he was Brian May for a second!
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7546968.stm I don't mind Clattenberg, he always seems to give us a penalty or two. The Dingles are convinced he has something against them too. Nice work Mark.
roversmum Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 The last couple of matches he refereed for us rather gave me the opinion that he had lost the plot.
Majiball Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I'm staying!!!! Its my choice, don't make me laugh Ronnie, I'll bet fergie whipped your pants down and gave you a right spanking after what you've said. http://www.portugoal.net/ManUtd0809/200808...s-At-United.php Worse than Bentley!
neekoy Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I think the agreement will be for his transfer next year. Ferguson has obviously said that until he finds someone who is good enough for the team he isn't going anywhere.
neekoy Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Also, Ljungberg being let go at West Ham, on a free could he still offer something across the park?
philipl Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Scan of the papers shows: - Ashley is going to deny Newcastle are for sale (having failed to sell them), - Chelsea bidding £19m for Robinho - Calderon under pressure at Real Madrid having failed to buy Ronaldo - Young and Shorey have both signed for Villa - and not Premier League yet but Dowie is staying at QPR and this preview of Hull City is a cracker.. These are good ones as well from the BBC- Liverpool's owners have failed to raise the cash to sign Gareth Barry from Aston Villa and now the move could be off - again. (Daily Mirror) Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is set to incur the wrath of boss Kevin Keegan by demanding forward Alan Smith be sold to Everton. (Various)
