First half I thought Pompy hammered them. Feel sorry for Crouch and Defoe though. They are just not getting the service.
CrazyIvan
Pompey V Manure Hmm, could be a while before Pompey get some serious points on that display, no invention and Crouch and Defoe didn't even look as if they were on the same pitch. Best moments were long distance shots that Van Driver just about saved.
philipl
Crouch was awful. Based on the first two weeks, Chelsea are the team to stop, not the Mancs. All the clubs which Rovers should be competing with for 5th slot have issues but then so do Rovers if the concept of Premier class players seems so alien. LeChuck
I thought Portsmouth were going to be too good for us this season, but Harry Redknapp seems to have completely lost the plot over the summer. Their line-up tonight was... James, Johnson, Kaboul, Campbell, Distin, Armand Traore, Diop, Davis, Diarra, Crouch, Defoe. I mean...what the hell is that? 5-3-2 with 3 holding midfielders? What's the point in buying a near £20 million strike force then playing those eight behind them? With Spurs seemingly going to cock-up another season, Everton in semi-turmoil, and Villa looking dodgy at the back, we have a real chance of finishing 5th if we can get our act together in the transfer market this week. Presty On Tour
Arsenal don't look to sharp this season either though they do have some top players on the sidelines. I think if a team really gets their act together, the gulf of the top 4 may finally get broken.
dingles staying down 4ever
Based on the first two weeks, Chelsea are the team to stop, not the Mancs. Just like last season but at the end of the season any team that finishes above the Cornish Mancs will be crowned Premiership Champions.

Hannah
Just got back from Coventry vs Newcastle! Newcastle looked distinctly average but then I'm guessing they rested lots of players as a few names I didn't recognise. Coventry's defence needs shooting - talk about slap dash! Disappointing atmosphere but did laugh a lot after newcastle scored the winner in extra time the Newcastle fans took to chanting who the # hell are you? As if they had just won the cup - not scraped past a mediocre, at best! Championship team!
