The PFA who act as his agent say different.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11678_4057926,00.html

Milner: I want to improve my contract

Keegan: No

Martin O'Neill: We'll offer you more

Milner: Transfer Request in

Players know the story when they make that move to hand in the request, its the final goodbye before a move, afterall they lose their loyalty bonus (now there's irony)

"Sigh. I fear for us with Ben Haim in squad, he's not impressed me so far. I think Hughes will turn us into another Blackburn. Which is a slightly classier Bolton, which is not good. At least with SWP back we'll have some more options."

Veloso is linked to Spurs today.

Arsenal can buy a 30 million pound player but we all know Wenger doesnt like to do that.

Man City have matched Zabaleta's buy-out clause of 6.5 million pounds and he will speak to them now. Whatever we think of their financial uncertainty, they definitely are going to be a force pushing for the UEFA Cup spot, along with Spurs, Villa, Everton, Portsmouth and ourselves, all going for one spot!

Everton has just agreed a fee for Saha!

Makes you wonder, there is no way United would let him go unless Berbatov was definitely coming! And Evertons squad is picking up...

Signing Berbatov or not Saha is never fit so I guess its good business for Utd to get rid.

Everyone is writing Newcastle off but they are no worse than the group of teams you have just said...

Stoke have signed Sonko from Reading, which I think is a superb signing for them, if we needed a strong, quick and reliable centre back I'd be very happy to have him here...but we have Samba already.

I'm actually quite impressed with what Stoke have done this summer; they know what they're good at so they've assembled a bloody HUGE team! Abdoulaye Faye, Amdy Faye, Sonko, Olofinjana, Dave Kitson...all 6ft + (in most cases, well over 6ft). They were big and strong enough to begin with (Sidibe etc.), but now I bet most teams are going to be dreading going there given the style they play. Putting Sorensen in goal was a shrewd move too.

They remind of Bolton a few years back before they went all soft on us.

The SuperCup commentary is great:

Zenit player skies ball followed by "the pitch is bad but he can't use that as an excuse".

Rooney gets the ball under his feet and completely fluffs a great chance followed by "the pitch probably stopped him controlling it there" or something along those lines.

I rather liked the look on Rooney's face when he was carefully positioning the ball ready to kick it when a Zenit player whipped past and nicked it! :D

Dickson fcuking Etuhu :huh::rolleyes::lol::D

WOnder if Bullard will be off. Is it true that Hodgson doesn't rate his game? Etuhu isn't that bad - a so so archetypal holding midfielder. It's really hard to judge a defensive midfielder because it seems to be a position in which you can get away without taking risks with your game.

I mean, if you are low on confidence, you can still charge around, fly into tackles and defend like mad. In other words, you can still do a reasonable job at DM. And if you don't trust your passing, performing 5 yard sideways passes is not going to have the fans screaming for blood because they don't expect great creativity from a DM.

However, if a striker or a winger is low on confidence, he loses his most crucial assets of decisive passing, dribbling and shooting, which makes it much more of a struggle.

Rooney looked very poor last night whist Zenit, admittedly playing at home, were a long way better.

There was all the commentator guff about Man U never taking the Super Cup seriously but that looked like their strongest squad available with their first choice XI except the injured Ronaldo on the park.

PS I know it was played in Monaco but the south of France is as Russian as Kallingrad these days.
