rover6
What a boring day this has been. No transfers at Fulham except for Julian Gray. . . Rovers reject...or more precisely, Souey reject. A bit lazy from Roy, he could at least have signed Oumar Konde for the FUlham. Edit: Does anyone feel that Walter Smith's sneaky purchase of Pedro Mendes puts our Grella Guy to shame? I'm sure that Grella is an improvement on Moko but £4 million - and he can't hit 30 yard thunderbolts on a regular basis and artistic cross-field passes... Hughesy
West Ham still want to sign Ghana skipper Steven Appiah, despite Monday's transfer deadline. The midfielder can move as a free agent from Turkish club Fenerbahce. (The Sun) - WOULD BE A GOOD SIGNING
Bobby G
What a waste of money the Belgian lad is for Everton. I have seen him play and there is no way he is worth anywhere that amount. But then again with the money being spent on domestic talent I am not surprised that foreign teams begin to jack up their prices too.

Billy Castell
Nowt on the BBC as of 5 minutes ago. This may be something that is just reaching the fan. What odds that Wise will step in if the stories are true?
RibbleValleyRover
It's hilarious up here today, grown men close to tears!!! Haven't seen anything on the news channels to say he has gone. If he has walked i am not surprised, Ashley for a billionaire is pretty tight with his money. Then there is the Dennis Wise interference when it comes to transfer dealings. nellybc
I wonder if it has anything to do with joey barton - keegan nailed himself to bartons sails, maybe wise wants shut ?? I know nicko said it was agent talk but ..........

Billy Castell
Interesting. The Keegan rumour is gathering pace. Wonder what causes this walkout? The attempted sale of Joey Barton? Dennis Wise interfering too much? Ashley's meddling on transfers? Man City may not amuse neutrals for a while, so I guess it is Newcastle's turn to be a bunch of clowns. It could be the Milner sale, though some of the possible reasons you have stated could be the reason if he has indeed walked out or been pushed: The North American Newcastle Supporters site reckon it was the sale of Milner who Keegan wanted to keep: Issues surrounding the recent departure of Milner, a player Keegan didn't want to let go and the lack of new faces this summer, has caused friction between Keegan and Newcastle's hierachy. http://www.toonarmyusa.com/newsnow/keegan090208.htm
Majiball
If Keegan walks it for one reason and one only he is not in charge of all footballing affairs. No manager wants someone above him deciding what and how he wants for his team its a stupid situation TBH. Having a sporting director or what ever they are called is notoriously counter productive. He wants that player and the manager does not you don't need it. If Keegan walks fair play to him he has never looked happy really, Ashley is a disgrace he should not be in with the fans its a recipe for disaster. Spansterkid
Ashley is a disgrace he should not be in with the fans its a recipe for disaster. I don't think he'll be safe drinking with the fans anymore if it's true that he's gone.
Billy Castell
BBC says Keegan meeting the board. Story is unfolding. I agree Spansterkid. Keegan is such a hero, Ashley is likely to end up being burnt alive in a wickerman wearing a Sunderland shirt if he sits with the fans again. Who other than Dennis Wise would want to take over, as there are so many stories about Ashley or Wise interfering. Oh, its emerging on SSN as I type. It'll be on after the ads. Bobby G
Reports continue to gather pace... There is only one man Ashley can install that would quell the riots. Mr. BBC himself, Alan Shearer.
