John Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Bentley is looking a right t0ol these days! Glad that so far his move has worked out so well for him. Being his boyhood club and all, their start to the season must be giving him sleepless nights. He is so close to greatness!

Claytons Left Boot Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Should have typed 2-1 to Lyn but the edit thingy seems to have gone. (Not that anyone will bother )

On the other hand, although we might have received the maximum fee we could have for selling him this summer, we have hardly benefitted on the pitch.

Presty On Tour Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Very impressed with Villa, some much pace and players who can run with the ball and skin a man!
PMT Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 On the other hand, although we might have received the maximum fee we could have for selling him this summer, we have hardly benefitted on the pitch. Some people insist on sucking the joy out of things..... Not sure Spurs are going to be playing Champions League football next season
Frisky Jim Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 A tremendous start for Tottingham Hotspurs. Ossie will be proud.
92er Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Some people insist on sucking the joy out of things..... I suppose I am sure Spurs will eventually get out of the bottom 3. I'm less confident about us.
brfc4ever Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Very much enjoying the ongoing collapse of Bentley's career. Going from being the fulcrum of a top 7 team and in the England team to being a benchwarmer for the bottom club getting tonked by Villa and out of the England set-up. Oh, and his most knob-ish hairdo yet. Excellent career move, David Cant stop laughing Talk about making a wrong move. OMG !
vintageadidas Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Villa were very good tonight. I though Barry was amazing. They are sound at the back, very good in midfield and decent upfront. Top 6 again i think. Martin O'Neill is a top manager and respect for the way they dealt with GB. We are too soft sometimes. Spurs, very average. We must win at the weekend.
neekoy Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Funny as hell, but I will not give even the slighest chuckelt until we are well and truely out of the bottom three and into the top half, ahead of spurs of course. Great move Bents.
BPF Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Ronaldo (The fat one) to City Very interesting story this morning
Rovermatt Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 When fat Ronaldo was in shape, he was the best player in the world. Now he's an unmotivated joke. By the way, what a cracking result last night. Spurs will most likely finish above us (that is to say, they won't get relegated) but Bentley's move to such a massive looks like a real corker doesn't it?
G Somerset Rover Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Very impressed with Villa, some much pace and players who can run with the ball and skin a man! Was thinking exactly the same thing myself. They're a joy to watch with their quick counter attacking and positive play. And we have precisely zero players with either pace or the ability to skin a man.
gumboots Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 They have a billionaire owner. and O'Neill has spent a couple of years building that team, not a matter of months
AggyBlue Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 and O'Neill has spent a couple of years building that team, not a matter of months As I recall, it was always said and generally accepted that a manager needs three years to build and mould his team.
Billy Castell Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 How would this affect Man Utd? Sounds serious
gumboots Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Their sponsorship of Utd is a very very small part of their business and I doubt United would have much trouble finding a new sponsor. annoying for them, even disruptive but not a real problem
brfcshabba Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 How would this affect Man Utd? Sounds serious A new business opportunity by releasing replica shirts with another sponser
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Terry got his red card rescinded. Funny that.
Wolves_Rover Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Terry got his red card rescinded. Funny that. Well, no shock there really, especially with Vidic only getting a yellow card for a similar offence in the Liverpool match.
gumboots Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Well, no shock there really, especially with Vidic only getting a yellow card for a similar offence in the Liverpool match. What's ridiculous is it's not dropped to a yellow - just wiped out altogether.
Billy Castell Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Their sponsorship of Utd is a very very small part of their business and I doubt United would have much trouble finding a new sponsor. annoying for them, even disruptive but not a real problem True, but with huge banks all over the world going bust or desperate for governments to bail them out, a bumper shirt deal is unlikely. AIG, Lehmann Brothers, HBOS and a host of others are going under or in serious trouble. I don't know much about how these institutions work, but surely the troubles could mean any replacement deal is of a lower value, and things may hit the fan with regards to the loans the Glazers took out to buy the club. maybe Phillipl or someone with a financial mind to look at this situation.
