Absolutely brilliant to see Spurs struggling, "top four this season" my arse.

Surely with the regularity at which Spurs change managers, Ramos is pretty close to getting the sack. He struggled last season in the league and he is doing so again.

Bentley looks a completely different player; his service from what I have seen so far has been incredibly poor. He has gone from playing week in week out in his best positions and being part of the England set up, to playing out of position on a regular basis and falling further down the pecking order when it comes to England.

Has the Blackburn Rovers curse struck again?

I thougt of Wigan as relegation candidates for this season, but looking at their starting eleven against City they look more like top 10 contenders (Titus Bramble excepted offcourse).

Kirkland, Melchiot, Bramble, Boyce, Figueroa, Valencia, Palacios, Cattermole, Kapo, Heskey, Zaki.

You have proven premiership standard, exciting flair players and some dark horses... Interesting!

Spurs are very poor. DB looks a shadow of the player he was at Ewood.

I'm shocked at how poor Spurs are, the goalie is average nothing special, Dawson is always liable for a goal or two, Corluka looks disinterested who the ferk is O'HAra, Bentley and that Russian up front absolute garbage.

Spurs fans must be really concerned on that performance after having Keane, Deffoe and Berbatov in attack with goals a plenty they are suddenly almost overnight redcuced to watching this rabble.

Long may they continue to keep up this form though i'm not complaining.

I am astonished at how poor Bentley is looking after a lively opening few minutes.

"I don't know where the Blackburn David Bentley has gone. He's slow, cumbersome and has had absolutely no impact on this game."

BBC Radio 5 Live's Steve Claridge

Lennon's final ball has been the usual absolute disgrace.

To Pompey and the Guardian have this:

In the wake of some Sunday press speculation about Alexandre Gaydamak's plans for Pompey, the club have released a statement clarifying that there are no current plans to seek new investment at Fratton Park. "The club's owner has already stated that the club is not for sale but, as with all businesses, should the right offer be forthcoming serious consideration would be given to the proposal," read the statement. "The financial position of the club is fully audited and is consistent with its peers in the football industry. The club's growth and performance over the last 2½ years is evidence of how well the club is managed." Make of that what you will.

What I make of it is the Gaydamaks are desperate to sell and not having much luck. Papa's just lost a cool 400 million and switched off the taps at Beitar Jerusalem and the same is going to happen at Pompey if they don't sell first.

The player sales at Pompey if the Gaydamaks are still there in January will be eye-popping.

Was it not just a few short months ago philipl that your were saying Pompey were potentially looking strong ?

Absolutely. As FA Cup Winners everything was developing very nicely for them. And it remains the case that if they can get the stadium built, I'd expect they would fill it with 35,000 regulars because there is the growing population and now no meaningful local competition. Rovers have 6 Premier League clubs and 11 League clubs closer to Ewood than St Mary's is to Fratton.

However, if your owner's Dad loses a significant chunk of his fortune and is unable to support the net £100m+ which has already been burnt through and apparently not yet paid for (I didn't know it was all on tick), then problems await if new owners are not found ASAP.

What's with the keeper shouting and screaming at Zaki as he's waiting to take the spot kick.

WTF is happening to the game, that is terrible sportsmanship, he should have been booked for that.

I agree, he should of been booked. Me thinks City are getting abit too big for their boots. Good to see Zaki sent the muppet the wrong way anyway.

Tourettes syndrome I beleive that he has been coached by the same coach as the Everton keeper Tim Howard :P

Thought he was actually touched but he did make a real meal of the going over.

He was pushed. I think the commentators were looking at their legs for a trip, but it looked to me as though the City player pushed him. Very theatrical though, - agreed.

Theatrical, YES. But on this occasion EFFECTIVE.

:P

Whilst we are on about such a thing, has anyone else noticed the poor performance of referees this weekend ?

Apparently, the senior refs have all been to a workshop this week that revolves around the RESPECT programme. It didnt work did it !!!

Out of the Premiership games so far, we have seen howlers from Bennett, poor decisions from Riley, a shocking decision by Styles, inconsistent refereeing at St James Park, inept display at Fulham and a flurry of yellow cards for absolute non-challenges.

Listening to Mark Hughes nowadays is a bit like people after they've been replaced in Invasion of the Bodysnatchers. He looks like Mark Hughes, the voice is that of Mark Hughes but somehow he's not the Mark Hughes that even those who had doubts about at times thought was a good Rovers manager.

Mr. Champions League himself is being slammed by alot of Spurs fans for his sporadic performances, with many thinking he shouldnt be starting. He looks like he doesnt have his confidence right now, and his one in three match performances doesnt seem to go down too well when the spotlight is on him.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again. Bentley was an EXCELLENT ASSET for us, but he doesnt have the pace or the consistency to be a WORLD CLASS player for the bigger teams. Whilst pulling something out of the bag every other game is something we couldnt do without, there will be a few players like him in "bigger" teams and he wouldnt get the chance to stay on the pitch long enough every match like he would with us unless he is putting in performance after performance, something which I believe he hasnt yet done.

Enjoy it Bents.
