IMO if Benni regains his place in the team then it is down to Ince, maybe Fowler had an effect, maybe not, the key is that a number of posters will probably argue one of the following:

If Benni plays well then it is down to his ability and Hughes signing him.

If he plays badly then it is Ince's fault for playing him and should have sold him in the transfer window, just what I like unbiased viewpoints ;)

Real give up on Ronaldo saying they cannot match Abramovic and ADUG (made the last bit up but it is less than dishonest than Real calling Man U a friend club)

and doesn't that illustrate the point I continually made, that you do your utmost to keep your best players because things/circumstances change? You don't get rid at the first opportunity.

While I completely see your point Den, I just don't think you can draw comparisons every situation is always unique. I refuse to believe that Ince JW did not do everything to persuade Bentley/Brad to stay. Both went to clubs in Europe we where not, its a tricky one TBH do you make them stay and run the risk of an unhappy player? Christ just look at Bentley in the press recently I wonder if he actually has a agent? and if so does he have a clue?

I can see fergie now "did Madrid win the CL Christiano NO they barely made the last legs and they won the Spanish league, Mmmm think about it a bit harder son, here's two stones squeeze them in your ears it should speed up the process"

The more I read about what he is saying about his current club the more I believe the stories of his pre-season antics with us and that was a situation that could not continue.

Yes we should have covered our arse so to speak and been looking but even then I would have looked at a holder and a right back first. We'll see what happens in the meantime Emerton is doing well.

It's not here, Sunderland vs Newcastle is live. Not sure why that game is on early.

Rooney shows that shameless loyalty to money is not something only Blackburn fans have to see...

Wayne Rooney is booked for clashing with Mikel Arteta - which wasn't a yellow card either if you ask me. Then, very naughtily, the striker kisses his badge and points to the United fans. Ref gives him a ticking-off. Silly boy.

Sunderland beat Newcastle 2-1, good to see Newcastle's misery continue.

Sounds like its getting rather heated at the stadium of light after the game:

1439: Ugly. Fans are spilling onto the pitch, and fighting has broken out. We'll hear more about that I'm sure. Disappointing end to an engaging derby.

and

1441: Not surprisingly, the cameras have panned away from the trouble at the Stadium of Light, but there are reports of seats being thrown. The police have moved in in numbers...

A good proof that spirit and confidence still can carry a team pretty far in PL. Opposite example being obviously Spurs, from which many of us would've welcomed even a reserve midfielder with open arms..

Tottenham and Newcastle sitting firmly at the bottom of the Premier League at the moment. That is tremendous. I couldn't think of any teams after the big four who deserve it more.

Because we changed the way we played.

Much more crosses into the box. Didn't really play to his strengths.

He was also down about not being signed by Chelsea. Now we are have a new manager and he is trying to impress (and score, which he has done)
