92er Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Maybe, but he has only been in the job 4 months. Strachan and his team have been together for years. Even we didnt lose 3-0 One of the things that annoys me about Ince is his constant ability to put his foot in his mouth. No-one seems to have picked up on his apology for the comments he made on Saturday about it not being a woman's game, which I think were made on Monday and reported in the LT. You're right Hughesy, we didn't lose 3-0. We did lose, at home, 2-0 in the most humiliating performance against them since we have been in the Premiership. Celtic drew 1-1. It remains to be seen how many we lose by when we play them away.

Hughesy Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Most humiliating since in the premiership? Rubbish - didnt we lose 4-1 under Hughes?
DingleBaiter Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Btw can anyone explain this row between Paul Ince and Celtic? Strachan and the Celtic players apparently said something about Paul Ince in their comments after the game. What did Ince exactly say to get them all riled up? He said it was like men against boys, and Strachan & Walter Smith got extremely Scottish about it. However, it proved a masterstroke in motivation, the manager should be thankful for the help
ABBEY Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Do you think he meant to dive ? I don't think he cheated, but it was a fair and square situation where the referee shouldn't have done a thing. are you stevie??? bloody wonder!!!
modes98 Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 You're right Hughesy, we didn't lose 3-0. We did lose, at home, 2-0 in the most humiliating performance against them since we have been in the Premiership. Rubbish. There have been far worse since we have been in the premiership. Granted most of them away from ewood, but losing 5-0 away to Cov was hardly the highlight of the mid to late 90s. Having said that we did then do them 5-1 in the return game. The Man Utd game this season wasn't awful, we tried to play football, much like we tried against Arsenal. Ince will quickly learn that you don't try to play football against the top teams, you do that against the rest and then play to the top 4s weaknesses.
92er Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 What I wrote was that the home performance against MU was the most humiliating home perlormance against them during our time in the Premiership. We only lost 2-0 but we were never had a shout of getting anything out of the game and their score was so low not because of our great defending but because they missed chances. And you're right Modes 98, the away loss at Cov was very humiliatinf-I was there and heard the phone-ins in Coventry from supporters who thought they were really going places because they had just thrashes the champions. But you are also wrong about Ince. He has already gone on record as saying that the won't compromise on his fotball principles, so I expect us to try and out-football Chelsea.
dingles staying down 4ever Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 He said it was like men against boys, and Strachan & Walter Smith got extremely Scottish about it. However, it proved a masterstroke in motivation, the manager should be thankful for the help Now lets see if Ince can motivate his own troops!
trs Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 After free travel to West ham, Spurs, and hull tomorrow, Bolton have now announced free travel to both Sunderland and Boro in the coming weeks. You always hear the likes of "the fans can make a difference" "they can be the twelfth man".... so fair play t' Bolton for their thinking. If fans are that important, why the hell should they not be given free travel. The question is, would Rovers consider doing the same?
1864roverite Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Joe Jordan has left Pompy, as it stands it is unclear as to whether he will go to Spuds as they have already employed Sherwood and Big Les. He could be the man that would fit in at Ewood Park
LeChuck Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I'm sure he'll be going to Portsmouth as First-Team Coach. Sherwood is only part time as he said he can't commit all his time to coaching, and Ferdinand is only going to teach the strikers how to kick the ball straight or something.

LeChuck Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Errr...Spurs, that's the one! Unless he does a U-turn quicker than 'Arry did and heads back to Fratton Park.
Hughesy Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I wouldnt be suprised if Pompey really struggle, especially if Defoe and maybe 1 of their other stars leave in January. They seem to be falling appart, keown has turned them down, Harry wants the better players and they are in big debt.
RibbleValleyRover Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I see United had a special guest at training today: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/i...als/7716243.stm
Amo Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 And after all that, Fergie still tells him to #### off.
thenodrog Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Joe Jordan has left Pompy, as it stands it is unclear as to whether he will go to Spuds as they have already employed Sherwood and Big Les. He could be the man that would fit in at Ewood Park He'd fit in better if he was 30 years younger!
philipl Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Could not find the City/Thaksin thread so this dump thread will have to do. Thaksin and his Mrs have had their British Visas revoked. They are travelling in east Asia at present and will not be allowed back into the UK. I believe he is still a City director. Still a fit and proper person FA/Premier League?
Presty On Tour Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Cracking first half at le arse! These games are either dire or end to end and thankfully this one so far has been the later. 1-0 to the frenchies.
BRFC1995 Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 great first result of the day for rovers wigan v stoke 0-0, hopefully the rest draw today and liverpool win the 5;30 game.
American Rover12 Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Who's idea was it to put the abysmal chunky numbers on the front of the W'ammers kits? Ahaha
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 I think it's because the company they were sponsored by, XL, went bust.
American Rover12 Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Yeah that I knew, but it looked much better blank. 2 goals in 2 min for everton sike: 3 goals
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Yep, West 'Am crumbled. Pompy score against Sunderland so they are back to 1 point behind us.
Backroom Tom Posted November 8, 2008 Backroom Posted November 8, 2008 Well the results could have been a lot worse for us today, other than Bolton it doesnt look like any of the teams around us wont be getting a win. At least after tomorrow we're still likely to be out of the bottom 3.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 We need Liverpool to beat West Brom, Villa beat Boro, Fulham and Newcastle draw and Spurs draw or beat City. EDIT: I don't think we can go into the bottom 3? Wigan and Sunderland will both be below us, and only one of Newcastle or Fulham can go ahead of us since they are playing each other. AND Spurs are 4 points behind us.
