FANS TO MEET STARS AT ROVERS’ KIT LAUNCH

Roque Santa Cruz will be one of four star attractions at Blackburn Rovers’ official kit launch event this week.

Supporters young and old will get a not-to-be-missed opportunity to meet the Paraguayan striker and a trio of his teammates from Mark Hughes’ first team squad at the event that will include a fans’ “Strikers’ Challenge”.

Roque will be joined by midfield maestro Tugay, giant defender Chris Samba and ever-popular goalkeeper Brad Friedel at the Ewood Park club shop from 2.30pm on Thursday.

It is the fans’ first chance to get their hands on the club’s stunning new home and away strips, supplied by UMBRO, which will be worn throughout the 2007-08 Premier League campaign.

The traditional blue-and-white home design, along with the eye-catching new red-and-black-halves away strip, have already received rave reviews.

“It promises to be quite an event,” said commercial manger Ken Beamish. “Everyone is welcome and there will be opportunities not only to purchase the new kits but also to meet the players.”

“It’s the school holidays and we are encouraging as many youngsters as possible to come down to the shop and meet their heroes. Supporters will also have the chance to demonstrate their footballing skills as we’ll be hosting a “Strikers’ Challenge” outside the shop from 1.00pm. There will be prizes to be won on the day!”

Prices for the new home and away shirts start from £35.49 for adult sizes and from £27.49 for junior sizes.
