Big Fat Sam Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Cheers for the review. Can I ask who was running the team?

hollowsr Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Everyone on the bench, Mainly Gary Bowyer though, Cannon didn't get to Brockhall until about 20 mins before kick off. Seem to have quite a few coaches for them though. Also found out that Frank Fielding's brother is a fitness coach for the Academy.
AggyBlue Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Hitchcock I'm beginning to understand why he has got a pro contract. Puts in so much work in harassing the CB's and has a good jump on him to flick balls on, not the strongest of players but there's promise from him. Took his goal very well with a well placed header. 8 Nice to see he scored again. That's three goals in three games isn't it?
hollowsr Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Yeah, got the winner v Stoke academy last weekend, got the equaliser v Wigan for the reserves then one yesterday. Good for him as he hadn't scored up until then.
hollowsr Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Not long got back from the game. Rovers won 3-0 in a deserved result. Without either side creating a lot of chances it was Rovers that always looked the most likely to score. Rovers were missing a few players due to different reasons. Ramm and Hall the first choice full backs were missing as were Hanley and Morrissey who I think are both away on international duty. Both sides hit the woodwork a couple of times throughout the game. Rovers took a two goal lead into half time with 2 goals in the final 5 minutes of the first half. The first coming from a well worked quick thinking corner from the right. Morris saw Potts free on the edge and played a quick ball to him. Potts took a touch before unleashing a powerful strike which the defender on the line basically ducked beneath, with the shot crashing into the top of the goal. The lead was soon doubled after good work around the penalty area saw Morris get free and he hit a well placed shot across the keeper into the far corner. Rovers really deserved their half time lead as Bolton hadn't troubled Swann too much. Before either goal Rovers had gone close on consecutive attacks with Morris hitting a super curling effort from the edge of the area which he was unlucky to see crash off the inside of the post and back out across goal, followed by Hitchcock going close from close-range which the keeper managed to block. Rovers started the second half strongly looking to kill off the goal, Evans had put the keeper under pressure and got the wrong side of him before being brought down by the keeper, but somehow a goal kick was given, let off for Bolton. Mid way through the second half Rovers killed the game off. A cross from the right by Ajabge was driven in eluding everyone and ending up in the back of the net. Bolton finished the stronger with Rovers making subs to allow those that haven't had a lot of playing time the chance, Lindsay, Vastic and Knowles all coming on, Bolton did manage to draw a good save from Swann but they mostly had chances from corners which Rovers defended well. Still unbeaten away from home for the lads and still top of the league.Top Delete postReport this postReply with quoteEdit post
CrazyIvan Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Doran is back. Anyone know how he got one at Leyton Orient?
Shabani Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Looks like our Under 16s beat LA Galaxy U16s yesterday http://thelagalaxy.blogspot.com/2010/04/galaxy-academy-falls-to-blackburn.html
philipl Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Rather amusing- a double match report without giving either result. That American take on football is odd to say the least!
