Derby Blue Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Matt Jansen, Alan Fettis and Simon Garner playing for Rovers! Should be a good laugh! I really think we're struggling for players - I'm sure Man U have 1 more player than us?
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 1-0 to Rovers! Simon Garner!
Jordan Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 One Matt Jansen theres only one Matt Jansen!!!
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 I tell you what....Alan Fettis is still great! It's great seeing Jansen again and can't believe he's still under 30 and not playing professional football. What a sad end to a fantastic player.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 Angus Deayton tackles Matt Jansen.... Like I said...what a sad end to a fantastic player. 1-1
T4E Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I really think we're struggling for players - I'm sure Man U have 1 more player than us? I think we should have Craig Short too but he got injured.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 2-1 to United. That Brookside actor scored an own goal. I think his surname was Pinder.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 Fettis is brilliant. Probably better than Friedel. Sign him up again i'd say!
Hasta Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Typical ref favouring the big club. Weak free kick against Rovers in the final powerplay. Man Utd wasted 30 seconds timewasting and then the ref blew 3 seconds before full time. What a rancid day.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 Breaking news: Hughes sacked!
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 Did anyone see that trick by that Man City dude? Unbelievable!
Timmy Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 is this the one on Sky One? I saw about 1 minute of it...looks a dreadful concept. Who where these "celebs" (or perhaps Z-elebs) more soap "stars" no bodys heard of, ex boy band members, ex reality show people. why do Sky One keep putting this rubbish mixer of zelebs and football. I would prefer to have by eyeballs removed my a blunt instrument, whilst being castrated by the local butcher than sit through this drivel. yes before anybody says I know there is on off button-I use it every night before i go to bed.
arealbrfcfan Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Does anyone have any clips from this? i dont have sky and totally missed this. I'm well gutted
bluebruce Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I tell you what....Alan Fettis is still great! I can only hope that was sarcasm. Worst keeper I've ever seen play for Rovers.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 26, 2007 Author Posted September 26, 2007 You should have seen him the other day. He was performing a 'Brad' in the net and saving pretty much everything. As for his time at Rovers. I didn't think he was that bad. He was at the club when we had quite a few decent keepers in the squad and I felt he was quite reliable when called upon.

Then I can only assume you didn't see him or are partially sighted. I remember a game where we shipped four goals, and three of them were practically solely Fettis' fault.

I remember a game where we shipped four goals, and three of them were practically solely Fettis' fault. I'm not saying he was an amazing keeper at Rovers because he only played around a dozen games or so in about 3 years but when we had injuries to keepers like Flowers then I had no problem with him going in goal. If we judge him compared to other goalkeepers we've had in the last 10 then he probably would be further down the list of favourite goalkeepers because ******WOOOOO BENTLEY SCORED AGAINST BIRMINGHAM!!!!!!!! GET IN!!!! ************* i've felt we've always had strong keepers at the club since the time he was at the club (Flowers, Friedel and personally I really liked Filan).
spanishblue Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 It was great watching Simon again. Brought back many memories, I taped it for my 8 year old son to show him a legend in action
Tim Southampton Rover Posted September 27, 2007 Author Posted September 27, 2007 Thank god Simon didn't disappoint then! He could have ended up on his backside like the legend Rodney Marsh!
