Alan75 Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 No Festive Bank Holiday Fixtures. Whilst the armchair fans will be happy, those that have purchased season tickets will have to reschedule their festive period arrangements, following the news that Rovers fixtures for the period have been rearranged to accommodate TV coverage. This festive period Rovers will not have a Bank Holiday game, due to the away fixture on Boxing Day against local rivals Manchester City being moved to Thursday the 27th December and the New Years Day home game against Sunderland being moved to an 8pm kick off on Wednesday 2nd January, in order to accommodate an the away game against Derby on Sunday 30th December. Rovers home game against West Ham, scheduled for Saturday 8th December has also been move forward to 4pm Sunday 9th December and their home game against Chelsea will now be played on Sunday 23rd December. Whilst there is no denying that TV helps to finance the game, the traditional game as we know it, is in decline and the supporters who provide the ground atmosphere have to pay the penalty. Maybe Rovers should add a rider to their season ticket marketing logo. WE BELIEVE FOOTBALL IS FOR FANS. PROVIDING YOU SUBSCRIBE TO SATELITE click here for messageboard views
