If Rovers had signed Gerrard on the eve of the season we would have finished 20 pts ahead of Liverpool.

We didn't. He plays on Sat so not much between the sides.

Rovers 1 Liverpool 1

True. Although that's a completely different spin on "it evens itself out" comment.

To be honest, kopite (and I'm restraining myself from amending your name slightly), if you didn't come on here to argue your points, but rather force them down our necks, then bugger off! The cheek of a Liverpool fan coming on here telling us we're a joke! Cut the hyperbole crap and use your brain...

Ha ha kopites are gobshites though mate! Im not trying to force any thing down your neck. Just strongly disagreed with some of the stuff posted. Im red through and through but am not stupid and im honest. We get a few rovers fans on one of the Liverpool sites i post on so thought id come here to ask a question on a ticket for my mate and stick around for some footy talk.

Get a grip. God you lot really do sound like a load of bitter blue noses.

Of course its not good enough for me and i would rather the ref got it spot on every time but hes not going to, human error is natural. What im trying to say is normally over the season you will get good decisions go your way and you will get bad decisions go your way. True or not?

And do some of you lot really believe there that refs try to give the decisions to the 'big clubs'? If you honestly believe this then you believe that football is corrupt and the 'smaller clubs' are being cheated, no? I didnt come here to argue but some of the stuff posted in here is an absolute joke.

Yes but that's not what you said. You said that things even themselves out. Fair enough if you've changed your mind.

That's because Chelsea are a bigger club than Liverpool.

You're not serious are you? Liverpool are one of the three big clubs in this country. Utd, Liverpool with Arsenal a very close third. Chelsea are nothing but a bunch of johnny-come-lately money men with no tradition, no real sense of football club, nothing. Liverpool have tradition running through every aspect of their club, a truely great club built on the foundations laid down by Shankly. You cannot begin to compare them with Chelsea............and so it will be far, far better a feeling when we win on Saturday.

I've managed to get a table in the Jack Walker for 8 people for this game; looking forward to the meal and the wine and 3 points.

The table will have 6 Pool fans and 2 Blues, 2 of the Pool fans are stopping with me on Saturday Night.

This may be one mega celebration, or a mega wake for me. I can always poison their breakfast if it goes belly up.

Fair enough, it's an opinions board and you have your opinion. Still think that you've a problem with your manager, though. If you believe you don't, I'd like to hear why you feel you've underperformed for the last 4 years in the Premiership?

kopite - do this and then come back and let us know what your crowds would be :-

Get rid of Everton and then reduce the population of Liverpool to just 105,000.

Of that 105,000 get rid of a further 28,000 and replace them with Asians who hardly ever set foot inside a football ground.

Make it so that five miles east of Liverpool you were then in the territory of another established league club.

Five miles north and you were in another.

Nine miles south and you were in another.

kopite - hello-oh, hello-ohhhhhh, are you theeeeeeeeeeere?

Things havent gone quite as well as we would have liked in the prem under Raffa but dont let the press try and let you believe its as bad as they make out! We have finished above Arsenal in the last 2 seasons. Do you hear anyone calling for Wengers head? No. People are saying we are finished in the league already this season an these are the same people that were creaming themselves just a couple of months back after we had beaten Villa,Sunderland, Derby and what should of been a win against Chelsea. We would of expected to beat them 3 sides and not dissapointed with a draw so most of us werent getting to carried away (well the whoppers that follow our club now were). If we win on Saturday and its a big if before you all start! and Arsenal and the Mancs draw we are still unbeaten in the league and only 4 points off the top. If thats us in a crisis its going to be bloody good when we are on fire! I spose what i am trying to say is yea i spose we have under preformed in the league in the last couple of years but no where near as bad as the press make out and after Houiller the club had a lot of re-building to do. Look how long it took old whiskey nose Fergie to win the win his first title with the mancs.

Me and the lads that i go to the match with have had to put up with stories from our dads and all the arl arses about the good old days and there stories of going to European cup finals all our life. In the last three seasons Raffa has given us our own stories to tell. He won the European cup in his first season with us won the fa cup in his second and took us to another European cup final in his third season. Now weve hit a BIT of a stiucky patch in the league and some of our fans have the bare face cheek to call for his head. IMO they are a disgrace and shouldnt even be following the redmen. Raffa has given me the best moments of my life and if he needs a year or two more to bring number 19 home then he can bloody well have them. Look where we were before he came, barly making the champions league every year now we are dissapointed if we dont cruise the group stages of the champions league. Some people have very short memories.

Sorry for going on a bit!

Wont know that till around May time mate or may be earlier if we keep playing the way we are.

I find it funny the way eveyone is still banging on about our mate Clatts so much. Yes he had a nightmare (if your a bluenose) and yes we were lucky but if you want to be like that look at when we played Chelsea at home, robbed of 2 points by a crazy pen given to them by the ref. It evens it self out over the season.

Utter rubbish, Styles made one dodgy decision that at full speed many people thought wasn't too bad. Clattenberg, or Clatts to his mates obviously, made several extremely dodgy decisions. Not sending off Kuyt for one of the worst tackles ever, not giving Everton one of the clearest pens ever never mind another which was pretty dodgy. Giving you a debatable pen and then sending off Hibbert on the orders of Gerrard.

Only two possibilities on the basis of that performance. The most incompetent ref in the history of the game or he cheated, it's that simple.

in that case Mike you had better hide the silver, lock up the credit cards and most definatley do not leave your car keys on show !!!!

For me I always enjoy the visit of Liverpoo, it creates banter with the father in law and it always brings back memories of seeing the only team to ever win the Premiership at Anfield.

Its amazing the coincidences with our Championship winning season and I dont think for one minute we can repeat it althoug on the face of recent results and the quite obvious team spirit at Rivers I can see a top 6 finish.

The crowd will pass 27500 I am certain and I see a close game won by the odd goal. I dont think we can envisage a totally all out attacking Liverpoo team as they simply havent got the players anymore especially without Torres and Pennant, not to mention Alonso. I also think that missing Agger is a big bonus as I see RSC and Benni creating some big problems for them at the back.

Its about the will to win and Rovers to come out on top by the odd goal.

No score prediction but I do predict 4 cars stolen from Liverpoo to be dumped around Ewood with 6 stolen from Blackburn after the game

From here...... http://www.brfcs.co.uk/mb/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=409397

"Listening to Talksport in the car today one of the contributors Gabriel Marcotti has apparently compiled a book about the differences, or similarities, between English and Italian football.

That's by the by but he said one of the best people he interviewed for the book was Graham Poll who he said was was extremely honest with his views.

Poll's view on the reason why so many decisions seemingly go in favour of the big clubs was:

If a referee sees an incident clearly and is certain as to what's happened he'll give the decision accordingly. If he doesn't see it properly or there is an element of doubt in his mind subconsciously the referee thinks "If I get this decision wrong and it affects (say) Brighton's season it's not going to make any headlines outside of the Brighton Argos. If I make a bad decision involving (say) Man Utd the whole Country will be on the case."

Depends what you mean by big. If big means history and support then you are right; however, on that basis clubs like Spurs, Everton, Newcastle, Villa and Birmingham can all claim to be miles bigger than us. To me big club is a combination of history, support, money and then recent success and standings. On that basis Chelsea are miles larger. I don't think it matters that this success has been brought about my a wealthy owner, that doesn't change the facts.

As for decisions going both ways, they do, but we'll never be on the right end of the majority of poor decisions, the big clubs will be. Any supporter of a big team who doesn't agree with that must watch football with their eyes closed.

The definition of a big club has never been properly formed as far as I can see, but imo in 90% of situations where the term Big Club is used it is solely down to financial resource and status and by that the ability to attract the games best players. There was nobody bigger than BRFC in the early 90's ... not even Man Utd but thats all gone now.

The most confusion is created by the size of the crowds of various clubs but that means very little in attracting and purchasing players. History and tradition in either success or longevity in relation to the term 'big club' mean sweet FA.

btw Brum do not qualify in any of the above situations.
