There is not a cat in hells chance that Anelka will be playing at Rovers. Not now, not ever. I don't think that Huddlestone is good enough for the Spurs team and I don't think he would be an improvement on Savage, Reid or Dunn. Sidwell would be a good move, but the money touted is silly for a player that was signed on a free last summer and who has hardly played for Chelsea this season. The forward sounds like yet another "exciting" youngster that will no doubt fail to make the cut.

If Savage is to leave, then we need a tough tackling midfielder who can protect the back four, now. If Roberts is leaving and there is any uncertainty over McCarthy's future, then we need another forward who can slot immediately into the first team, if required. I don't think this Bulgarian sounds like he is ready for Premiership football.

Not quite sure what your basing that on. Can I suggest: Warnock, Samba, Bentley, Nelsen? I would go with Hughes judgment. Only balls ups so far have been Rigters and Mokoena (who to be fair has been okay for the money we paid).

Joey, you should porobably read over what I wrote. Samba, Nelsen, Mokoena and Warnock were hardly younsgters when they were brought in. Bentley came from the Arsenal youth set up and had proven himself at Norwich.

Rigters is exactly what I'm talking about - a youngster whom we know little about and is from a foreign, lower standard league.

I think he will be alright after some more match practice. Wherever he has been they always threw him out on the right wing didn't they?

Why,Where,Who linked us to Huddlestone? From what i've seen he is just a 1 trick pony(and its a """" trick), he stands about 10 yards outside the box the ball gets passed to him and he delicately chips it aimlessly into the box and maybe one time in god knows how many matches a goal is scored and brian marwood shoots his load extoling the virtues of the technical abilty of such a big man! I'm not going to quote Ron Atkinson but please lets not touch this one, Steve Sidwell however i'd want to see on loan first check he has'nt lost the will to live after seeing the grass is'nt greener(just more expensive) ala duff.

Samba is a youngster who had virtually no playing time at the club he was at in Germany. Nelsen came from the US league which everyone dismissed as an appalling standard and he had never touched the level of competition you see in Western Europe at club or country level. Warnock I suppose had been tested a bit at liverpool but like Bentley at Norwich didn't look up to much.

My point is none of those, Warnock perhaps aside, had anything to recommend them apart from the fact Hughes and the coaching staff thought they could succeed. Which they all duly did despite most of this message board, me included, being highly dubious.

We have been consistently linked over the last year or so by several papers and Nicko. Just a gut feeling but I think he is a player that the coaching staff have been interested in a long time and who they have identified as an ideal target- a bit like Warnock.

However with priorities lying in other areas (defensive rather than creative players), and the fact that Ramos seems to like him maybe ends the possibility of us getting him. Which is good news for you!

From the BBC Sport gossip column:

Blackburn defender Bruno Pezzoni is set to quit the club, just after breaking into the first-team, to join German side Cologne. (Mirror)

Well despite the startilingly stupid misnaming it sounds accurate. We have been connected with left backs over the last week presumably to replace Berner as cover for Warnock.

You could argue why do we need to? Olsson looks alright.

It's not Bruno Berner who is leaving but Kevin Pezzoni, a German Under-21 international, who has come through the Academy into the Reserves. He has not been given a chance this season, despite being a regular German Under-19 international and now in the Under-21 team.

This is the second good prospect who has returned to Germany after his career has stalled at Blackburn. Juvhel Tsoumou returned to Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer and he was one of the leading lights of the Academy.

For the money that is being spent on the Academy we don't seem to be producing players who are good enough for the lower leagues let alone the Premiership. To see promising players like Pezzoni and Tsoumou leave is disappointing.

One player that will be available for transfer is Katsouranis from SL Benfica.

He seems to be unhappy, had an argument with Luisao during last game so his future there doesn't seem very promissing.

Could be a good solution for Rovers midfield, possibly on loan.

OMG, not sure if this link has been posted but:

Hughes preparing £7.5m move for Cisse?

Surely not?! I know that the press will hype up the transfer by exaggerating the price, but even half that fee seems incredibly steep. I liked Cisse at Liverpool. He wasn't prolific, but his pace alone was enough to rip teams apart. I haven't seen him play since, but it doesn't look as though he has done at all well.

I wouldn't mind seeing him at the club, but not for anywhere near that kind of price.

Decent player, but I think he is just an ok player playing in the right system and for the right team. I wouldn't want to see us move for him, but he does do a very good job at Reading.

I'd like to see Hunt sign for us, he seems to enjoy the game and would give Ped a run for his money for Left Mid.
