modes98 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Olsson has overtaken him as the next big hope at LB and ended his chances of making the break through. Still another one bites the dust. You just wonder how long Eddie Nolan and Tony Kane will wait in the wings before moving on.

Brfcrule1 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 hello all, thought this might bring a smile to someone check the link below: http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_so...fer-rumo-7.html aparently the former spurs midfielder gave his former club a slap in the face by not recommending a player to them they say he should wait for a big club classy! LOL! thought that was funny when I read it! laters all.
rover6 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Olsson has overtaken him as the next big hope at LB and ended his chances of making the break through. And Bruno Berner. I expect to hear that Rovers have completed the signing of Lance Davids soon. Hughes was, apparently, looking to reduce the size of his squad before he signed him - according to Davids' agent. And whilst agents don't often spout Gospel, I have a feeling that this one's gonna go through.
Iceman Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Why are we going for Hassan Sas….if we want a striker from Turkey then we should go for somebody like Nihat Kahveci(Sp)
Oklahoma Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Two midfielders that would be great for Rovers are going to be loaned. According to the latest rumours: -Maniche is going on loan to Inter Milan -Katsouranis will replace him in Atletico Madrid. I would love to see them in our midfield.
den Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 BBC gossip page linking us with a move for Lassana Diarra and Hasan Sas. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/g...ers/7178302.stm Diarra has been left out of tonight's squad, apparently.

I don't think we'll be able to compete with them two clubs!
Oklahoma Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Maniche already signed for Inter. Katsouranis is possible. Atletico Madrid wants Albelda. So they may not follow their interest in him.
BRFC1995 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 According to skysports the bulgarian fella can do a sub-10second 100m, and will cost £1m. So worth a punt! Really want to see this fella have a go in the first team. Santa along side someone who is lightning fast, need to see it!! Defend from the front stop teams defending high up against us!

Dude that stuff is as real as the Emancipation Retraction.
1864roverite Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 BFS will no longer have any interest in Diarra, nor for keeping Owen, Martins,Ameobi and Taylor. NUFC are ripe for picking if they had any intersting players to choose from.
John Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Speaking to an Arsenal fan today, I did not realise Diarra has been left out of the last two squads (tonights included). He wants to leave because he wants to play first team football, and Gallas has even attempted to talk him into staying but he wants to go in January. Would like to see us at least attempt to sign him, thing is, we should get our money back for him should we ever decide to sell him (if we bought him).
tony gale's mic Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Dude that stuff is as real as the Emancipation Retraction. maybe he cant run 100m under 10 seconds but he must be at least very quick, if he was average speed then someone with a working knowledge of bulgarian football would have pointed out somewhere this can in no way be possible. even if the club are spreading this rumour to get a fee for him, i doubt theyd release something that was completely impossible to believe. and his scoring record is very impressive. granted, its only the bulgarian league, but you can only beat whats being put in front of you and he's still pretty young. well worth a punt i say.

I agree about the scoring record and that he is worth the money if Hughes likes him. The thing about the speed of the lad, it was made up by a member of this very board.

sanlorenzo Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Why are we going for Hassan Sas….if we want a striker from Turkey then we should go for somebody like Nihat Kahveci(Sp) Sas is a midfielder and plays the left. Reports of him playing striker are inconsistent with his team page description and he is far from being a prodigous goalscorer.
Guest Kamy100 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 According to Lancashire Telegraph we are after Koumas and there is a possibility that the deal could be done before the game on Sunday.
joey_big_nose Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 According to Lancashire Telegraph we are after Koumas and there is a possibility that the deal could be done before the game on Sunday. What the hell is that all about? We need a decent fighter- Sidwell or Diarra. Koumas strikes me as a bit like Dunn- talented but not a grafter so a bit of a liability in the centre of the park. We need more quality. edit- I guess this is a stop gap solution til we can get someone else is. Or maybe we are planning to get two central midfielders (one grafter and one skillful). If we do get Koumas we cannot afford to spend a lot on him. A loan would be ideal if Bruce doesn't want him at the club. We can't lash out two or three million for the sort of player who we don't need at the moment. But I am sure Sparky knows that.
rover6 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Koumas is a superior player to Dunn in almost every department. He is not the tough-tackling midfield organiser we need in the middle but I would be well chuffed if we signed him.
philipl Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 The Koumas interest seems to have happened since Tugay got injured.
Eddie Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 If we brought in Koumas AND Diarra I'd be very happy. If we brought in just Koumas I wouldn't be very happy. Chances of the first of those happening are slim to none.
alexanders Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 The Koumas interest seems to have happened since Tugay got injured. Is Koumas similar to Tugay concerning the style of play with technique, passing quality and quick look?
joey_big_nose Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 If we brought in Koumas AND Diarra I'd be very happy. If we brought in just Koumas I wouldn't be very happy. Chances of the first of those happening are slim to none. Depends on how much Bruce wants Koumas. A loan will be free. Or we might be able to swap a player. Or, if Bruce just doesnn't like him, we might be able to get him for a million or two allowing funds for a battler and another striker (If Roberts goes).
Oklahoma Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 According to the newspaper "A Bola", Atletico Madrid has made a 6 million € offer for Katsouranis. Benfica want 10 million €. So, either the bid is accepted and we can compete with it or Benfica rejects the offer and lets him leave on loan.
