Biddy Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Ref denied us a clear penalty according to the commentator... nah, the ball bounced very strangly and hit him. He was keeping his arm as close to his side as he could.
Mr. E Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 well it was fun while it lasted, but they've taken the candy away from us. I'm not even going to bother with my usual reaction because I've given up on everything.
brfc4ever Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 I feel like crying. November has been no fun
Tim Southampton Rover Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 nah, the ball bounced very strangly and hit him. He was keeping his arm as close to his side as he could. Fair enough! Probably been a penalty if we were the ones defending going by our luck today
philipl Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Shots statistics according to the BBC at the moment On target: Rovers 11 Villa 2 Off target: Rovers 7 Villa 0 THis was my worry for this season- we would get a footballing team together which could inflict real damage and the refs would take it away from us.
krislu Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Another red card. It's time to stop blaming the ref, we are getting men sent off right left and centre!
Tim Southampton Rover Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Another red card. It's time to stop blaming the ref, we are getting men sent off right left and centre! Another fine for the club probably as well if we keep this up.
Alex Rover Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Phil Dowd is a liability. Always has been and it's a wonder he hasn't been sacked well before this game. I can only imagine that he's hoping the "big" games in the CL will deflect his incompetence.
krislu Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Another fine for the club probably as well if we keep this up. I'm afraid so, but that is what you deserve I'll reckon...
LeChuck Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Shots statistics according to the BBC at the moment On target: Rovers 11 Villa 2 Off target: Rovers 7 Villa 0 THis was my worry for this season- we would get a footballing team together which could inflict real damage and the refs would take it away from us. Obviously the referee has ruined any chance we had of getting anything from this, although 2-0 with eleven men still would have been very tough. However, you can't really say the referees are taking it away from us. If that statistic is right, that's 19 shots without scoring a goal. Referees can do many things but they can't put the ball in the net for us.
krislu Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 If that statistic is right, that's 19 shots without scoring a goal. Referees can do many things but they can't put the ball in the net for us. I assure you, of those 19 shots only a couple was ever in danger of going past their goalkeeper.
John Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Just got to accept that Villa are the better team. You would expect us to have more possession and chances at home. Villa have got pace, power and physical presence throughout their team.
artemorethanlabore Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Though that includes one disallowed. Blackburn have been by far the better team for large parts of the first half and the second until the send-off, dunno where you're coming from.
Alex Rover Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Referees can do many things but they can't put the ball in the net for us.They can award penalties
Tim Southampton Rover Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 I've felt for a long time that we don't finish teams off. We've had so many games this season and in previous seasons when we have dominated games or had a high percentage of the play and we don't do anything to kill games off. We could create 20 chances yet only test the keeper a couple of times and we'd then pay by teams scoring from 1 or 2 chances. i.e. Fulham on Sunday and Villa today + many examples earlier in the season. Anyone remember Rovers v Crewe - We created so many chances (must have been 20+ shots on goal) yet Crewe scored with their only attack to win 1-0 at Ewood. Ahhh lol
USRoverME Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 I assure you, of those 19 shots only a couple was ever in danger of going past their goalkeeper. except for the disallowed goal and the 3-4 great saves Carson made in the first half.
John Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Blaming the ref is the easiest option. We have basically our full strength team out, and the fact is that we have been beaten convincingly at home.
artemorethanlabore Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 We've been as convincingly beat as we dominated and won versus tottenham earlier in the season.. Hint: Not
brfc4ever Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Worst game of the season so far IMO. The great start to the season is gone now.
Mr. E Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 well if this is the best we can do, then getting in the CL will not look too likely, will it?
Tim Southampton Rover Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Is that Nelsen out for 3 games?
John Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 We've been as convincingly beat as we dominated and won versus tottenham earlier in the season.. Hint: Not Its all about goals matey. Don't get points for performances sadly.....
