tony gale's mic Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Chelsea at home - what a surprise you mean the tiny, miniscule 50% chance that they might have been drawn at home?

brfcshabba Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 you mean the tiny, miniscule 50% chance that they might have been drawn at home? You look at how many times they have been drawn at home in the FA Cup in the last few years.
mjs Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Brings back memories of a famous FA Cup win for us, the chocolate brown strip, and Andy Crawford.
den Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Brings back memories of a famous FA Cup win for us, the chocolate brown strip, and Andy Crawford. Yes, and a fantastic performance from Duncan McKenzie.
sleepyjack Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 You look at how many times they have been drawn at home in the FA Cup in the last few years. If I flip a coin ten times and it lands on heads every time, what are the chances that it will be tails next time?
oozy Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Can u believe that they actually tipped Rovers to win the FA Cup, were any of the big 4 not to win. Guess thats put the mockers on us and we'll lose to coventry
BRFC4EVA Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Another sleep inducing draw. When will we ever get anything decent?
mjs Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Another sleep inducing draw. When will we ever get anything decent? Preferably in the final.
modes98 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Brilliant but potentially rubbish. Wanted this tie for years but if we lose I'll never hear the end of it!
Jordan Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 If I flip a coin ten times and it lands on heads every time, what are the chances that it will be tails next time? 0% as you must be using a dodgy coin. As for the draw....should be a decent tie. Coventry will bring a few however we should be strong enough to get past them. Kind of hope its a draw as it will give me a chance to visit a new ground.
philipl Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Coventry will probably bring around 5,000 if they are not all too depressed. First "good" third round draw in about three seasons- the all Prem games are pretty interesting and a nice number of lower teams v higher league teams drawn out with the lower team (unlike the dingles) having a realistic chance of progress. Newcastle's trip to Stoke should be a cracker if they ever get the ball out of the stratosphere.
OJRovers Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I wanted to get Burnley, but a home draw vs Championship team means we should get through. With Burnley getting Arsenal it looks like we won't be playing them for at least another year.
frosty Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 We'll be okay in this tie, should progress comfortably.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Coventry Hopefully Mifsud won't play - They won't score otherwise I'm sure they are hoping Benni, Roque, Bentley, MGP, Samba, Nelsen, Friedel etc etc aren't playing...
USABlue Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Would this be the same Coventry that knocked Utd out of the league Cup at Old Trafford. Perhaps if Arse play the kids the new resurgent, Prem quality, shoe in to regain their rightful place in the top flight Burnleh, should have nooo problem turning them over.
Rovers in America Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 If I flip a coin ten times and it lands on heads every time, what are the chances that it will be tails next time? Depends. If Arsenal or Chelsea are the beneficiary of heads, the odds of it being tails are between 0-5%, and generally tending toward 0%. If Liverpool or Man Utd are the beneficiary the odds of tails would be about 20%. If it's any other team tails would be 50% next time.
Neil Weaver Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Tempting fate I know.............. so we're playing Arsenal in a couple of weeks in one Cup then Burnley are playing em (and probably similar personnel I'd guess) a couple of weeks later. Wonder if anyone will be shouting about a closing gap after 3rd round weekend?
thenodrog Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I expect that they'll be driving a herd of cows over t'turf every day between now and January.
Alan75 Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 I expect that they'll be driving a herd of cows over t'turf every day between now and January. Are you refering to their women again.
thenodrog Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Are you refering to their women again. I'm no expert Alan but I like to think that I can tell the difference between cows and sheep!
b12_simon Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Very happy with this draw. Of course 1st prize would've been the Dingles or Preston at home. This is 2nd prize and a damned good one. Rovers 4 - Cov 0
Alan75 Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Dont take Coventry for granted, they have an ability to surprise teams. West Brom found that out last night.
S15 Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 It has been reported this morning that due to some dicks' inability to read, the draw was wrong. Boro should have got Villa and Utd should have got Bristol City.
philipl Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 There is a lengthy piece on the BBC explaining the draw is right and this 24/25 business all an optical illusion.... To be honest, it would need a conspiracy to call both balls the wrong way round.
LeftWinger Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Video of Draw Mistake? This is a good view of it. It looks like he's called it the wrong way round to me. He even covers the second ball up with his fingers to seal the deal.
