Dunnfc Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 This game is there for the taking, weve sold 2,500 tickets so far so its important the team dosent let the away fans down. I really do think we will spank Wigan convincently and i do think some of the recent underperformers will put a good performance in but tbh im just afraid of Heskey bashing our defence and well Bramble is still there so i guess weve got to put pressure on him every minute of the game as he panics when hes on the ball. i predict 3-0 cruz benni gamst

Dingle Basher Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 I think we should try something different against Wigan, Roberts Benni Cruz Dunn Savage/Tugay Bentley Warnock Nelsen Samba Emerton Friedel Just a suggestion, if not we could maybe try something like that against Coventry in the cup.
Eddie Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 For me this is the perfect game to help MGP get some form. He's had some good games and goals against them in the past and I think we should start with him.
Jan Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 For me this is the perfect game to help MGP get some form. He's had some good games and goals against them in the past and I think we should start with him. Bloody hell, WHY?? He hasn't found form in the last X games, and has only looked better 'cos the rest of them looked worse! Why should this week be any better and why handicap us with having only 10 effective men AGAIN??
Ozz Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 OK, this is quite helpful Away Guide to JJB I plan to go for a pint in The Swan And Railway, despite the warnings although I may not wear my Rovers badge. Good ale, and 15 mins walk from the away end. Not had any problems ever at the JJB with the locals, in three visits but they can be a tad fractious in my experience. I think we can win this one, 2-1 and get a hat trick of wins over Mr Cribbins before Xmas. As long as M Hughes tells Santa to put his shooting boots on this week.
Hughesy Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Lawro predicted a loss, so thats 3pts for us!
waggy Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 very easy game turned tough by last weeks poor display,time for 3pts and a few changes to the team. 1-friedal 2-emerton 3-warnock 4-zurab 5-nelsen 6-bentley 7-dunn 8-savage 9-peter if still suspended/tracey/pedersen 10-mcarthy 11-derbyshire
greggyk Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 A very easy game?? Dear lord, where has this arrogance come from? No game for Rovers is an easy game, no matter how well we are playing.
Ferguson16 Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 don't suppose there will be tickets on the door? will the ticket office be selling them in the morning? im back up from london tonight...
RoverInWigan Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 tickets are avaialble at the turnstile
Ozz Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Indeed the official Rovers site has it now "Tickets for Saturday's match at the JJB Stadium will be on sale on the turnstiles on the day of the game. Prices are £15 Adults, £10 Seniors & Juniors." Jump on a bus or two and the match is a bargain.
philipl Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Pretty certain Reid will start for us tomorrow. We will have to handle a Wigan storm but I doubt Bruce has the tactical nouse to turn us over the way Coppel and Southgate set up Reading and Boro's respective wins over Liverpool and Arsenal. We will have to be seriously off form again for Wigan to get anything out of this one. Really hope both Benni and Roque score and this time the linesman's flag stays down.
Roar of the Rover Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Rovers to win 3-1, McCarthy Santa Cruz and Bentley. Hope Roque and Bentley score, got them in my Fantasy Football team, tough gameweek as top 4 playing againts each other. I've gone for Bentley as my captain
Paul Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 First away game of the season. Given our recent form I have a horrible feeling this will give Brucie his first home win for the pie eaters.
Mike Graham Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 can't wait due to work family and holidays I have not seen rovers for weeks...not great value from the old ST!! another 3 -v- 0 to us shove your pies
Hasta Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Hope Roque and Bentley score, got them in my Fantasy Football team, tough gameweek as top 4 playing againts each other. I've gone for Bentley as my captain lol. I've gone for Bentley as captain as well. Most people at my works are Bolton & City fans so they were laughing when I told them. However hopefully Bentley will shine and their usual choices of Ronaldo, Adebayor, Gerrard etcc. will draw blank. 1-1 draw. Go behind to a Koumas goal early. Equalise with penalty in second half.
Blueboy Downunder Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 a repeat of the steven reid inspired result from the other season would go down very nicely....along with the drop that i am drinking at present. a good team performance with a good result to end a mini slump for us. not bothered bout the score, but hopefully 3pts to us.
tchocky Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Wigan are without a win in 11 games. They have a new manager. It's christmas - perfect occasion for Rovers to end the poor run of a struggling side. We are doomed. 0 - 2
Craigman Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Friedel Emerton Samba Nelsen Warnock Bentley Savage Reid Pedersen McCarthy Santa Cruz Subs Brown Olsson Dunn Mokoena Derbyshire I suppose that could be a strong indication Roberts is off
roversmum Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 According to Radio Lancs he is at the stadium but not playing. A strong message from Hughes I feel. Also feel Mokoena will only be used if we need to defend a lead.
EwoodGlory Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 I like the look of that starting lineup 3-0 Rovers
T4E Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Savage and Reid, thank God for that. Time for us to start winning again. 2-0 Rovers
Eddie Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 Well that's our best 11 on the pitch in my opinion, hopefully they'll all perform.
Mr. E Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 finally, the line-up we all wanted to see. C'mon Rovers
