I/we would have to know who did want the job, though? I don't know that. I only know what the media say. Fair point though Jamie.

I actually think England had 2-3 better choices, including Klinsmann, but Capello is a serious man who's not gonna stand for the circus the English team has been producing the last few years. So I think he'll do quite well.

I'd rather have an Englishman but I will fully back the manager as I would any manager taking control of the England squad.

Capello is very, very impressive.

However only one concern, his poor record in knock out competitions.

Not great in a World Cup.

There's something amusing about appointing a manager that has only ever had success at club level to solve the problem of players not reproducing club form at international level.

Having said that, its the best you could've done.
