grizfoot Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Indeed it is. Keegan did a good job at Newcastle before but it's always risky returning to your former club.
Kandevil Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 yes on NUFC website too: http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsD...1217034,00.html Just breaking on Sky Sports News. Good news for everyone connected with BRFC!
modes98 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Woo Hoo, etc. Now we can get on with sorting out our team.
Mr. E Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 It is good news. Though I'd be worried if there was indeed a good chance that Hughes wanted to go to Newcastle. If it was ManUn, I'd sort of understand, but not crappy Newcastle. I would like to think his loyalties to Rovers come first.
frosty Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Good job! I can't see him doing much there and we can keep Hughes now.
LeftWinger Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Glad it's all over - and quicker than I expected. Let's get signing some players now!
Hasta Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Right hopefully some incoming transfer activity will commence. However i think we have all learnt during this episode that our manager is not going to sit pretty at Ewood until the Man U job come available. His comments throughtout have taught us that if he feels a more progressive offer along the lines of Newcastle becomes available he will probably be off.
M-K Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Get in , now lets sign some players. With what? Still, great news for us, even if it was a bit of a punch in the balls when Sparky refused to commit to the Rovers.
Quack Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Thank goodness for that - suicide watch over now. bring on the Boro,
Ozz Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I'm sure Keegan was quoted recently that he would never manage again in football, fairly recently. I expect the Newcastle managers job will be available again within 18 months. Bound to end in tears this Im afraid. Result.
CircoWill Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Delighted. Hughes stays and Geordies remain a laughing stock.
brian_gallagher85 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 The "I'll love" speech is on SSN now
AndyC Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Right hopefully some incoming transfer activity will commence. His comments throughtout have taught us that if he feels a more progressive offer along the lines of Newcastle becomes available he will probably be off. that's one way of looking at it. or he might well have done a harry. That's one thing we'll never know!
Tim Southampton Rover Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 BREAKING NEWS! HUGHES IS HIS ASSISTANT! Only kidding. Tim Southampton Rover, comedy genius. Feel free to hire me for birthdays, business functions and weddings.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Sky Sports are showing the scenes at Newcastle at the moment and it's pretty much similar to scenes of countries celebrating a world cup win. It's truly remarkable.......oops thats not the word i'm thinking of.........laughable! Thats it!
Shevchenko Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 As long as you're free to hire. Like many things in life, you get what you pay for (apart from when it comes to that beautiful game they call football)!!! Oh burn...
Mr Maureen Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Can someone remind me why Keegan left the Geordies.
bob fleming Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Can someone remind me why Keegan left the Geordies. Graham Fenton wasn't it?
Claytons Left Boot Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Absolutely brilliant from a Rovers perspective. From a Newcastle perspective, a disaster. They had to take their time and get it right. They failed. Billy Smarts has nothing on them.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Probably because he blew his best chance of success by throwing away that 12pt lead they had over United and the following season they weren't quite good enough!
