I'd be mightily peeved if this came off and we got no compensation. Anyway, Ince is 20/1 on Skybet, in from 25/1 earlier today, not mentioned on William Hill, 7/1 on Coral, 10/1 on Ladbrokes and 8/1 on Paddypower. It seems that the bookies think there is something in this story.

Of course, if it did happen, I'd be with Gordon, Jan and all the others who want him to be crap :D.

What a load of rubbish.

I would definintely want JW to leave if he decided to put it in writing that a young English manager can walk away for free to another club within 6 months.

WHO ON EARTH WOULD DO THAT??

Your talking rubbish, weaknesses have been highlighted in Inces armour that JW and co may have made the initial mistake with his appointment but this is an unbelievable get out of jail free card if it comes off.

Cant see it coming off myself, but i'll judge Ince on the performance of the team and the size of the home crowd come this saturday for me these two equally important factors will show how much the Blackburn public have bought into the new mangement team.

This is potentially the best bit of news all summer.

We've still got the vast majority of our season's transfer budget in the bank. If we can get rid of Ince before he has a chance to waste it then we could have seriously dodged a bullet here.

My instincts have me agreeing with this.

I would be amazed if he did go. It would be so quick, it would be indecent. perhaps its just the market reacting to the punters like how England are always favourites to win the world cup because so many people bet on them.

Would it really surprise you BC with the state English football in general is in at the moment?

Its absolutely furkin ludicrous is this.........

I think you are talking rubbish, weaknesses were highlighted in Hughes' reign and we still did not fire him.

Ince's record as manager,

Played 4

Won 2

draw 1

lost 1

remind me again, how did we play against Everton? That first 45 minutes was better than anything Hughes served up last year...

Brilliant how you say in the first sentence that Ince was a mistake and then that you will judge him on the performance on Saturday.

IMO it is a disgrace that people on here are potentially calling for Ince's head on the basis of 4 games, ONE of which we have lost.

There are people who are completely and utterly opposed to Ince and would still have a deep problem reconciling themselves to someone like him being our Manager even if he delivered some silverware this year.

My gut feel is that Ince's appointment has failed to energise and excite the broad centre of the Rovers' support with the failure to handle the Bentley situation and its aftermath and his recruitments being central to their nervousness.

I don't think for a moment most Rovers supporters would want Ince to be poached by Newcastle but equally I hardly think there will be many at the barracades to stop him going if it came to pass.

Hughes bought quality players so had the respect of the fans despite weaknesses in the teams performance - Ince has bought shyte players big difference, that record you post wont stay like that for too long.

Shyte players make a shyte team.. Hughes men hold the fort at this moment in time Hughes men got the result at Everton once they go... heaven help us with Inces men!

We heard all this rubbish with Hughes in January mostly from Newcastle media and contacts. It is getting a bit tiresome now.

Well we now know Hughes would have gone in a flash but Newcastle were shepharded away from him.

If we look at the job nobody sane wants, the Newcastle track record suggests Ince is a decent outside bet even though Alan Oliver is hardly a reliable source to say the very least.

Newcastle eventually ended up with choice number 7 in Souness.

They missed a fair few targets before getting BFS.

'arry rejected them but not before Hughes was so convinced the Pompey menager was taking it that a fortunately timed pre-match press conference got Sparky to say he wasn't interested and a number of other candidates proved non-runners before Keegan popped up.

Now Shearer has said no, Poyet seems to be unavailable, Zola is off to West Ham, Deschamps might get the French gig, and so on. It might get down to candidate number 7 again and the phone call to JW.

Think it through bucky... any such clause would be mutual BUT it would be in primarily to protect us!

SSSSHHHHH! Keep it down LeChuck! ;)

Personally I know I've argued against the appointment of Paul Ince since he came but I was obviously wrong as he is looking like the best manager that I have ever seen in my life since Alf Ramsey! Fowler's signing is the icing on the cake... a masterstroke in fact. Please please Newcastle dont take our manager again...... it'd be awful and he might even take Robbie as well! :o

.

Well seeing as Hughes allegedly found it attractive and Ince might well do so too .......... what does that tell you about the BRFC job?
