nicko Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 equal to those on Burnley getting promoted Not like you to be wrong...but. Southampton are 5 to 2 to go down, Coyley's Clarets at 16-1 to go up.
broadsword Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Financial matter? Dont tell me the directors are resorting to nicking handbags as well as the players are they? Perhaps they're dipping the players' handbags, it would then make sense that the players are then stealing from people on the minimum wage ...
modes98 Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 What are the odds on Southampton going down? I think that is becoming inevitable. No No No!!! Coventry are going down! Southy have just signed Wright in goal!
nicko Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 No No No!!! Coventry are going down! Southy have just signed Wright in goal! Signing Wright makes the drop that bit more likely...massive game tomorrow.
1864roverite Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Dont mind being wrong Alan, just dont wanna have to buy your paper for a 12 month period if t'clarrots did go up.
bringdunnback Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Nicko, if we were to be given 10 million to spend, where do you think Hughes will spend it and who will leave.
modes98 Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Signing Wright makes the drop that bit more likely...massive game tomorrow. Southampton have a keeper who has 2 england caps and played the majority of his career in the premiership. Coventry have erm a young keeper who has been displaced by a somewhat dodgy Joe Hart, and 2 very bad keepers. Granted Wright isn't the best but i know who I'd rather have! and the 2 Cov fans i am with agree.
nicko Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 Nicko, if we were to be given 10 million to spend, where do you think Hughes will spend it and who will leave. A top-quality, passing midfielder who can score goals - and is preferably young. A quick and goalscoring striker.
nicko Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 On Nelson Cuevas...the Paraguayan who thinks he could be signing a pre-contract with Rovers, He has STILL not played any kind of part for Club Libertad in Paraguay. Sounds like his knee injury is an issue. Any more info on that from across the pond would be gratefully received.
John Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Loving seeing various websites reporting, Hughes to be handed warchest in the summer........
awhom111 Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 On Nelson Cuevas...the Paraguayan who thinks he could be signing a pre-contract with Rovers, He has STILL not played any kind of part for Club Libertad in Paraguay. Sounds like his knee injury is an issue. Any more info on that from across the pond would be gratefully received. I saw him come on as a sub in his squad's Copa Libertadores game this past week. He seems quick enough and made some decent runs, but he blew a couple of chances and blatantly dived in the box so terribly that I was laughing for a few minutes. No booking though. I would imagine that he is still well short of fitness based on his role.
nicko Posted March 22, 2008 Author Posted March 22, 2008 Now this is what you call a goal celebration. http://ptfc.co.uk/pressbox/popPhoto.asp?id=1404
thecomebackid Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Now this is what you call a goal celebration. http://ptfc.co.uk/pressbox/popPhoto.asp?id=1404 Again, again
bob fleming Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 Now this is what you call a goal celebration. I presume he was booked for inciting happiness? There's no need for that in the modern game. Talking of "the modern game" and going off in a random manner - I'm presuming that we would not only be booted out of the league but also had Ewood burnt to the ground by the Premier League if was to take place this afternoon against Wigan. It's lifted from "Heaven, I'm in Heaven....." and a great spot by Plastic Head, it's a reminder as to what it used to be all about and I make no apologies for sticking it on here. Jim Branagan's look of innocence after he's tried to snap Kennedy in two is absolute quality. They still haven't found Paul Wood's testicles by the way. Jimmy Hill is nothing short of hilarious as well. Older viewers will recall that Portsmouth back then were a team of nasty b'stards - they had it coming if you ask me.
nicko Posted March 22, 2008 Author Posted March 22, 2008 Portsmouth have the FA Cup to distract them and they are not exactly prolific even with Defoe. Villa are in a dip and nobody has spotted it. Man City still do not convince anyone that they can last. If Rovers fail it will be because of a lack of bodies more than anything else. Of that group of four you have the best chance of three points on Saturday. If only I could convert that scary set of predictions into a winning coupon once in a while...
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 If only I could convert that scary set of predictions into a winning coupon once in a while... ...and tonights lottery numbers are......
modes98 Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 If only I could convert that scary set of predictions into a winning coupon once in a while... Pompey were missing 6 first teamers though. Good job mind you.
nicko Posted March 22, 2008 Author Posted March 22, 2008 The FA Cup will mess with Portsmouth minds and they have some older players who may feel the pace - Campbell and Kanu for two. Villa are toiling and I saw Man City today who look like they are already on their holidays. Sixth place awaits.

nicko Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 for us? maybe ..... but not for them up the road i dont think. 16-1 you said the other day, they were 16-1 for a good reason Shocking result - same old problems. Play-offs should have been made, any side with something about them could have made sixth. No keeper, no real left winger...no excuse. If you want to be taken seriously you have to spend. Not happy.
Hughesy Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 At the moment that league is anyones. Hull seem to be the form side
RevidgeBlue Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 If you want to be taken seriously you have to spend. Not happy. But I thought the way people were talking a few months back, Brendan Flood was meant to be a multi trilionaire?

Villa are toiling and I saw Man City today who look like they are already on their holidays. Sixth place awaits. Hmm, our dingle neighbours performed like challengers for a game or two when Mr Coyle first went there and the money was being spent but apparently the cash ran out with the job half done or was the lack of players available for transfer in the January window a problem in the Coca Cola as well? Just hope the Rovers don't flatter to deceive and fail to fulfil a nicko prediction like the dingles are doing. I reckon nicko is right about Pompey, Villa and Citeh having seen all three in live games in recent weeks. Amazingly, the dingles are still only four points off a play-off place despite their abysmal Jan, Feb and March which points to a sub-Derby performance in the Prem if any club coming 6th somehow raises themselves to win the play-off. One comment surely worth making is to acknowledge the achievement of former Rover Alan Irvine at PNE. He has taken them from relegation to mid-table security or whatever passes for such in the fizzy underworld.
RibbleValleyRover Posted March 23, 2008 Posted March 23, 2008 I wonder what the odds are on Jewell being sacked before the end of the season. What with this "tape" coming out.
