AndyC Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 reyes hated the english weather and culture. if he couldnt hack it in london, where there are at least plenty of spanish people, restaurants etc, then he'd never settle at newcastle or blackburn.
baxendenblue Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Nicko Who was the left winger that Burnley were trying to get in? Is the one on the radar Cisse? Thanks
nicko Posted March 28, 2008 Author Posted March 28, 2008 Nicko Who was the left winger that Burnley were trying to get in? Is the one on the radar Cisse? Thanks Scott Sinclair was promised to Burnley by Avram Grant. However another member of staff - obviously more important than the manager -wanted him to go to Crystal Palace instead. This makes Grant either a liar or a stooge who does not know what is happening at his own club. I don't think he is a liar. The keeper was Ben Foster. Fergie was letting him go on loan and then changed his mind. A privilege of the rich and famous. And, no it's not Cisse. The only clue is that it is a Rovers target who they watched last week - and picked to see in action in one game ahead of about 30 other internationals.

Thanks Nicko. looks like Grant really is in trouble at Chelsea. Do you still think Burnley can make it to the play offs. I would love them to come up, at least they would fill the ground. I am going to watch them tomorrow on a corporate day (Obviously not a lot spent on the entertanment!)
ABBEY Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 corparate day ..id have told em to shove it up there arse..i hope the scum stay down and get NO EXTRA TV MONEY whatsoever

I would love them to come up, at least they would fill the ground. I am going to watch them tomorrow on a corporate day (Obviously not a lot spent on the entertanment!) Any team would have had a massive boost with Sinclair and Foster...especially at this time. I am not optimistic at all any more, the last 72 hours have been sore. Poor old Coyley is finding out that there are some people you can't rely on in the game. He will be stronger for the experience. Still, if they win today the table will look better. But with a real keeper and a good young winger it would have been in their hands. Sadly it's not.
baxendenblue Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 corparate day ..id have told em to shove it up there arse..i hope the scum stay down and get NO EXTRA TV MONEY whatsoever So you wouldn't want to play in front of a full house against Burnley you would rather have 20000 against Wigan or Brum. Sorry but I would love to see a Rovers V Burnley game again.

Sorry but I would love to see a Rovers V Burnley game again. Absolutely right there. Rovers v Burnley or vice versa; there is nothing like it for atmosphere and excitement. Beats the hell out of Rovers v Bolton or Wigan any day.

tcj_jones Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I'm not great at these guessing games, but could it be Johan Elmander? I seem to remember him being linked with a Premier League club not long ago. He plays up front and I believe he won the French Ligue One player of the year two seasons back.
philipl Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Palace have significantly strengthened with their three loan signings. Looks like they are going to be glad all over.

I'd love it to be Tranquillo Barnetta, but it's not going to be.

Ozz Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 I suspect the mystery target is Lyons young playmaker Génie Bon-Marché. Scores goals for fun in the French top flight, and is believed to have fallen out with Alain Perrin. Should cost around €5M. Exciting prospect.

Played in London vs Brazil in the last week.

Unfortunately that will be picked up and appear in a Sunday paper tomorrow.
Fife Rover Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Just a quick question for Rathbone Market out of curiosity: Which team do the West Ham supporters regard as their most "hated" rivals in the same way that we see Burnley (more commonly known as the Dingles)? My guess would be Charlton?
Rathbone Market Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Just a quick question for Rathbone Market out of curiosity: Which team do the West Ham supporters regard as their most "hated" rivals in the same way that we see Burnley (more commonly known as the Dingles)? In years gone by it has always been Millwall-supposedly stems from both sets of supporters working on the docks and falling out over a strike many moons ago. It is always an interesting day out when we play each other. I've had some right shockers at the Den! Due to the fact that we don't play them much because of our differing fortunes I would say that Spurs are, in my opinion, our most hated rivals. Chelsea aren't far off either. Different Hammers will have those three in a different order but I reckon Spurs currently hold the title of most hated.
sylar Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 how about Alberto Gilardino? on his way out of Milan, possibly going to Roma. Great striker
Mozzer Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/g...ers/7320056.stm spurs could allow a few english players to leave according to the daily express-i wouldnt mind blackburn looking at jenas and huddlestone..
EwoodGlory Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 I would love to see Huddlestone here, he might cost a bit though. Could the target be Farfan?

T4E Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 I thought Sinclair went to Charlton a month back? What happened there? Was it just a 1 month loan?
