nicko Posted April 1, 2008 Author Posted April 1, 2008 Nicko, what do you know about this NZ kid? Any truth in the story? http://www.sportinglife.com/football/premi...EAMHD=blackburn The story seems to be correct, it was out last week in New Zealand. The lad is coming over to the academy and picked Rovers ahead of Rangers. He was 'discovered' at a soccer skills school run by legend Wynton Rufer. Apart from that I don't know much about him.

American Rover12 Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes is believed to be lining up a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Michael Kightly Any word on that front there Mr. Nicko?
jim mk2 Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Liverpool have about three right wingers at the last count and while he would be good in their set-up I don't think he is Spanish enough for Rafa...although the lady from The Times is obviously quite taken with him. The lady from the Times is also a devoted Liverpool fan and is clearly mischief-making. Unless someone offers silly money I think Bentley will be at Rovers next season.
nicko Posted April 1, 2008 Author Posted April 1, 2008 Any word on that front there Mr. Nicko? It's just the Sunday People story being repeated. Not heard it, but he's a reasonable player - although he has had a good few injuries.

He seems to be in the papers everyday with a different interview about England, Europe or a New Contract.

nicko Posted April 1, 2008 Author Posted April 1, 2008 A small smile crept across my face when I saw this... http://www.thisisblackburn.co.uk/display.var.2157382.0..php
American Rover12 Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Can you not extract some lucre out of Plunkett for 'exclusives' even if your name is not attached? Or does it not work like that?

nicko Posted April 1, 2008 Author Posted April 1, 2008 I mentioned a couple of weeks back that there was big trouble coming at Southampton...and took a bit of stick for not going into more detail. This was the story I had heard, although I should say I am not sure it has actually gone through yet. Either way, Saints need quick money - and that is usually a bad sign of trouble ahead and bills to pay in a hurry. http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...3372893,00.html
modes98 Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 As long as they can hang on until the end of the season and make sure Cov go down! Although that may prove immaterial if Cov beat Sheff Wed this week.
Billy Castell Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I'd have thought you'd want Cov to stay up, being from there and all.
modes98 Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I'd have thought you'd want Cov to stay up, being from there and all. A few of us have a few pounds on Coventry going down when Nicko tipped the wink about administration issues, although that didn't take 10points from them, the bet still could yield £180 for myself and more for others.
Billy Castell Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 My friend, Paul Murphy is a Cov fan, and I'll be moving there soon, so I'd like to watch 1st division football at least. And to avoid Leeds and Milwall fans visiting as well.

Sounds like a similar deal that Man U arranged with Leeds for the Ferdinand transfer.
rovers_rob Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Diouf determined to quit Trotters I don't like the guy but he is a decent player, how much do you think he would cost nicko ? I'm guessing that teams like birmingham or wigan would be interested ?
greggyk Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Seriously, im at Cov Uni..they give us students tickets for free! There's no way I'd go and watch that shambles again after making the mistake of watching them a couple times last year.

Think where they would be minus ten points...wonder if that has occured to Mr Ranson. If they are going down, look out for the old 'going into admin' trick. Not heard that - just wondering.

There's no way I'd go and watch that shambles again after making the mistake of watching them a couple times last year. Aw, that's crap. They weren't on offer when I was at that University. Mind you, they were at Highfield Road when I was there. Any free tickets are good, as I miss watching live games. Southampton seem to be imploding, and to make things worse Rupert Lowe wants to return! We may be worried about the future, but at least we don't have that dog's dinner. Oh, and don't forget about the trials of Nathan Dyer and Bradley Wright-Phillips. And as for Diouf, leave well alone. He doesn't score, is inconsistent, and is a complete ____.
doowe Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 He doesn't score enough goals. Leave alone. Yes, but he could hit anyone in the crowd with a good lob from a fully 30 yards!
