havn't been on here in ages, but heard a blackburn rumour today, from someone who should know, andhe claimed sparky would be going to celtic at the end of the season?

he's better off where he is if you ask me!

I doubt it. I heard Moyes was being lined up.

Seem to remember this chap being rumoured with us quite some time ago.

"A host of Premiership clubs are battling to bring PSG wing-back Bernard Mendy back to England in the summer.

The 28 year-old former Bolton midfielder comes off contract in June and has Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough seeking talks with his representatives about a Bosman deal. "

Watched him come on as s sub for PSG on the weekend, did some good things and set up a goal however if he can't make the run on team in a very poor performing PSG side I don't know if he would be right for us.

In a way that is a reasonable shout. Moyes will never go to Celtic, he has put together a good young team who are in quality a better outfit than Celtic.

Sparky might be tempted by the money on offer. But then it could mean that he is not really progressing as he would like. It is unlikely that any manager would be able to jump from Celtic or Rangers to the "big four" unless they won the European Cup with them. Which would be tricky....

I suppose much will depend on how much Hughes can feel he can grow the squad- ie. money for transfers, and our ability to retain our best players.

I'm not really advocating a move for him, but I saw a bit of Sinama Pongolle the other night and thought he looked good. He's scoring some important goals for Recreativo near the bottom of the Spanish Premier League. I always thought we should have kept hold of him after the initial loan, especially when Bellamy looked set to leave. He has pace and is a good finisher. I reckon he would have been a good signing back then, but I guess his price has gone up a fair bit now. Still, a possibility perhaps.

He's a £7.2m target for Valencia and Atletico according to todays gossip column. I agree though, for £2m we should have kept him, he had a lot to his game.

Nicko is Hughes still interested in Fortune?

I've been reading numerous articles that say he will continue to train with Rovers after he recovers from his injury.

I think there is an open invitation for him to come and train, prove he is fit, etc. But he came last time and got injured which has been the story of his career of late.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with him.

Great shame that Sinama was not offered a Rovers contract. I really liked that lad and he made it clear that he was happy at Rovers too.

I wasn't, I was pleased when we didn't sign him. Just didnt think he had much to his game at all. I was at his last game for us though when he threw his pants into the Blackburn end

Moyes may feel he has taken Everton as far as he can. With Celtic you get the ability to compete in Europe every season. Granted they aren't in the best shape at the moment, but a manager could come in and transform them into champions again quite easily.

Wow! £7.2m is big bucks, he really must be doing well over in Spain. I think this will go down as one that got away. I'd be interested to see how much Liverpool let him go for after his loan deal with us expired. I doubt it was much at all.
