FourLaneBlue Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 I think it is about time to forget about collecting on any bets for Burnley going up. After today´s results they are going nowhere....

tony gale's mic Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Coventry going down on the other hand....
philipl Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 I think it is about time to forget about collecting on any bets for Burnley going up. After today´s results they are going nowhere.... The pity is that had they won two fewer than they have done, the bottom end would be very interesting now... The likelihood is that the dingles will not collect any more points this season.
1864roverite Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 And I wont have to lower myself by going to the newsagents and buying the bloody Mirror !!
USABlue Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 I was hoping for Beattie, Gillespie and Stead on the score sheet today. Oh well I suppose you can't have your cake and eat it.
Alan75 Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 I was hoping for Beattie, Gillespie and Stead on the score sheet today. Oh well I suppose you can't have your cake and eat it. Beattie was more determined he's Blackburn lad

Of course, I'd forgotten we have quite a colony at Bramall Lane. There must have been a lot of booing up at t'Turd yesterday!

More's the pity ; I'd love to see Burnley in the prem, and Blackpool, Preston, Oldham, Bury and Rochdale too .... although Accy might be pushing it too far. Lancashire rules, OK ?
ally Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 DAVID MOYES is plotting a £4m summer swoop to bring Blackburn midfielder Steven Reid to Everton. (NOTW) David Bentley will choose between either Liverpool or Chelsea as the Premier League giants wage a £15m fight for the Blackburn star this summer. (News of the World) Normal weekend drivel
rover6 Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Eddie, I thought a man of your liberal philosophy would've allowed your personal lackeys to buy their freedom.
S15 Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 I might sell Reid for 4 million. I would be delighted to get £4m for him. A player bought for £2m sold at double after racking up an average of 15-20 games a year would be brilliant.
Eddie Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Eddie, I thought a man of your liberal philosophy would've allowed your personal lackeys to buy their freedom. Well I have to keep some of them.
they_think_its_all_rover Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 On the BBC website they're talking about "Should Bentley go to Liverpool or Chelsea" as if it is actually happening... big club a**e lickers!
Exiled_Rover Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 I might sell Reid for 4 million. I'd take that. Sadly Reid just doesn't know what to do when he gets the ball.
tcj_jones Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 The Steven Reid story has clearly been plucked out of thin air. Why on earth would Moyes spend that kind of money on him when he's played all of about 10 games after an eighteen month lay off and not performed especially well since?
nicko Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 Pretty certain that there is nothing in the Everton - Reid story...not on their list I am told. Gary Harkins was Man of the Match for Thistle today against Rangers. Now if only he took penalties.
92er Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 Totally off-message and maybe/maybe not on the right thread. But if anyone has ever been dumped at the wrong airport by Easyjet or other such 'operators' please let me know. I have had to fight for the past nine months to get a taxi refund of £131 from them after they ditched me, mrs nicko plus one of the nicko-ettes at East Midlands and not Liverpool...and won after being backed by the Air Traffic Users Council. If anyone has ever suffered in the same way and wants to know how to get the cash back just get in touch. Not quite the same but................ My wife had her flight to Geneva cancelled, with EasyJet, and as she had to fly ou that day, we had to arrange an alternative flight on the same day. Eventually got the new fare refunded. We had to send a letter in writing outlining the problem, then we waited. If you go on the website there is some means of reporting the complaint to them by e-mail. If they don't respond, consider contacting Air Transport Users Council (auc.org.uk ). I think their phone number is 0207 240 6061. They migh tke up the case for you.
they_think_its_all_rover Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Reading in for James Milner... Rovers also interested. Anything in it Alan?
Mozzer Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 apparntly along with sunderland we are after Owain fon Williams from crewe.. i thought milner was getting games anyway at newcastle?? he can do better then reading..
USABlue Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Reading in for James Milner... Rovers also interested. Anything in it Alan? I happen to be a big fan of Milners.
modes98 Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Milner is a very good talent, Villa were desperate to tie up the deal for him a season or 2 back, I'd be surprised if they weren't in for him again.
joey_big_nose Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 I'd take that. Sadly Reid just doesn't know what to do when he gets the ball. I would look at it if we were offered it. But only if we knew who we can replace him with. We have too few midfielders as it is! And with Ried I have a feeling he will recover his form, he seems the sort of character who is determined enough. Milner is certainly a player we should look at if he is going, although I am sure the money will be big because he is English.
benlloninho Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 If we got Milner, then I think we should let Bentley go. Not because I think Milner is as good as Bentley, but because we could improve the squad with all that cash. Milner has looked a pretty useful winger every time I've seen him play, for whatever that's worth.

O'Neill has wanted him for ages and I know from people involved in the deal that it is still very much alive. Milner wants to move and Newcastle will probably let him go. He is a pretty good, so that's a good capture for a top-half rival to make.
