Are you genuinely saying he is deliberately avoiding his left foot to make a protest about being played out of position?! I've scanned for sarcasm and I can't find any, but I apologise if I've missed it. If it is serious though, I'm flabbergasted. A lot of one footed players play on the 'wrong' side. i.e. Babel hardly ever uses his left foot but plays on the left.

Yes, he deliberately didn't use his left foot. Needless to say, he didn't turn out for the second half.

Are you talking about when he played against us?

I wasn't at the game but watched the whole thing and didn't notice that

He go subbed in that game on 72 mins for Gilberto who is a natural left back.

Carsley is leaving, Cahill has picked up what could become a nice complicated injury and Fernades won't be bought by all accounts...they're starting to sound like us in the middle of the park

Rebuild - I don't get that...? Do you mean to get in the Champs League?

Everton could lose most of their midfield.

Arteta - restless and may go back to Spain. Fernandes - won't sign full-time, not worth the money. Carsley - amazingly being allowed to drift out of contract.

Moyesie will have to buy three - and possibly a striker - just to stand still.

Their problems could get worse if they lose to Aston Villa on Sunday, which I think they will, and possibly even miss the InterToto spot if Rovers get a shift on or Man City can put a team out.

A lot of Everton fans on phone ins seem to think they're headed for problems next season. Wouldn't have thought so personally, but there you go.

check my post the other day ...i had a txt off a toffee who reckons its a relegation battle next season

Rovers are nine points behind them with a vastly inferior goal difference.

I was (still am) a big fan of Diarra and thought we should have really, really tried to sign him, but if you re-read what I posted on the issue I never said that we should offer him 65k a week, I actually said quite the opposite.

Eh? That he should pay US 65k per week?

You're right, to cement his England future.

I thought Capello intimated he wants England players playing in European competions, ideally the Champions league.

Capello may well have said that but I heard Brian Barwick being interviewed just yesterday and he was suggesting that a big task in front of the FA was to redress the inequality of the current domination by the Big 4!

Furthermore he has stated in January here....

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/main.jhtm...1/ufnbar131.xml

that the Prem has a 'duty' to provide the FA with top class English players. that is hardly likely to happen if the likes of Bentley spending matchdays warming the bench of some billy big time city club. There really is a need to be playing regular competative football. However if David Bentley is not all that bothered about representing his country after all ...........

Steaua's Nicolita, any info on him, Nicko? (the ever reliable Tribalfootball reports interest)

It's a new one on me. Right age, midfielder who should score goals but doesn't, plus a Romanian international. Sounds OK, but no word of him being watched.

By the way, is he related to Leroy? ;)

I thought Capello said quite clearly that he wanted players who played regularly. He wanted to pick on form and you can't have any if you're not playing. Mind you, I could well be wrong, and as my daughter keeps reminding me Bentley will believe that he is good enough to play regularly for a top 4 team

Nicko - any news on jussi at Bolton? Is he off to Villa/ Newcastle?

Jaaskelainen has a big back problem and might need an op. I don't see anyone paying him the contract he wants in that condition.

It would not surprise me if he got fit at Bolton and played month-to-month for them until the end of August to prove he is fit and earn a contract.

Bad timing for the guy, but that's the risk of letting your contract run out.

Crap. Looks like Philipp Degen, Dortmund's right back, is set to sign for Liverpool on a free transfer. One of my favourite players, and I would have loved to see him in a Rovers shirt. And I can't stand the Scousers :angry2:

Philipp Degen - very good player but Liverpool is a bigger attraction than us, i too would like him in our team.

I would personally like to see Pedro Mendes in a Rovers shirt next season. I have read that Arry is thinking of parting with him. Only 29, good vision, good link up play, has that killer through ball ability, very athletic and scores wonder goals.
