herbergeehh Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 I'll put the Blackburn target name up here later. When? Bookmarked your profile, so that I'm just one click away from the latest rumours, but still tiring as hell. Ruining my exams, I tell you.
PAFELL Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 I don't understad the Benni comments... If's he's playing and happy, some want him gone because he's not giving effort. If he's not playing and complainnig, people want him gone because he's a "distraction. If he's not playing and silent, people expect him to go because ... well I'm not sure why.... What exactly is the guy supposed to do? Or is this jsut the case of Rovers fans running the best scorer we've has since SAS out of town out of spite? Be a team player and not to consider himself the number one 'star' might be a good place to start - score goals would be even better, if he scored as much as he sulks he'd be brilliant. Maybe I am harsh on him, but he has not been the same player since saying he would like to go to Chelsea and when that went flat - so did he. Then Chelsea changed their manager and he saw his hopes totally disappear. I cannot help believe that he considers himself too big for a 'small' (in his eyes) club like Rovers. Once he sorts these things out in his head he will be back to his best. I suggest most people go through simular thoughts no matter the job etc they are doing - call it depression I suppose. Loss of motivation effects confidence etc. Personally, I believe he needs a big boot up the backside and brought down to size. At the end of the day he is just as important as everybody else who puts on a Rovers shirt.
Atomicrover Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 I'll put the Blackburn target name up here later. The world has gone slightly mad today...Birmingham are now in for Cahill and have matched Bolton's bid. It just shows there are no players about and a lot of desperate teams. On Jason Roberts...he won't go unless there is a replacement. There has been one inquiry, but it's from a team that seems to specialise in near misses. Don't leave it too late Nicko, they put the lights out here at 10.00pm
nicko Posted January 28, 2008 Author Posted January 28, 2008 Neal Trotman, Oldham's big centre half and funnily enough ex-Burnley. Loads fancy him, Plymouth have bid around £500,000. However Rovers made an inquiry today and if Oldham sell before the deadline then they will have a decision to take. Trotman is a bit like Samba and probably bigger and stronger than anything you have at the club bar the big chap. He is a bit raw, but could be something pretty special.

Presty On Tour Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Always remember that these posts are here for posterity... a rather wild assumption though nicko unless you know something and he's worth a punt? Swansea city look to be cruising to the championship, they are a well run club and have a new stadium with the top facilities(even though it will never match the atmosphere of the north bank at the vetch field). Leeds are 11 points behind and have played 2 more games than swansea, the club is in a financial mess and even though leeds are maybe a so called bigger club, martinez would be mad to leave for them at this stage of his managerial career when he has it so good at swansea.

Had a bet, now they've shut the book. I believe he is the first choice. And I hear Leeds know he has not signed a contract...

The lack of activity in the transfer window has been hard for the fans, so god knows how Hughes is dealing with it.

nicko Posted January 28, 2008 Author Posted January 28, 2008 Yep Mission Impossible - he may as well give up now. And what happens at the end of Mission Impossible?
revolutionrock! Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 William Wallace and his pals attack the Turf.
Tim Southampton Rover Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Club: Oldham (No 23) Starts: 19 Position: Defence Sub On: 2 Sub Off: 1 Goals: 2 Yellow Cards: 9 Red Cards: 1 Minutes On Pitch: 1715 He already fits in perfectly with our team!
nicko Posted January 28, 2008 Author Posted January 28, 2008 William Wallace and his pals attack the Turf. No, that was Braveheart...
John Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Not going to be able to sleep tonight now, too excited about possibly signing Neal Trotman. Just phoned my Spurs work-mates to wind them up, and they think Woodgate is a good signing.
Exiled_Rover Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 And what happens at the end of Mission Impossible? They, erm......crash a helicopter into a bridge? In all seriousness this Coyle bloke looks pretty competent - and with the amount of poor managers around that could be enough to see them promoted.
broadsword Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 6 foot 2, 13 and a half stones. I'm heavier than him, but an inch shorter! Bah!

Just phoned my Spurs work-mates to wind them up, and they think Woodgate is a good signing. Trotman is a pretty good prospect and may get better, I'm not knocking them for showing an interest. The fact is there is NO up-and-coming young defender at Rovers who has his kind of power and potential. If Oldham sell I think you will be in - and it would not be a stupid thing to do.
