With McAllister as short as 1/6. Any news on him Alan?

If he is meeting them - and that's a big IF - he isn't the only one. Gary also works with Eric Black and he is tied up in a job at Wigan. I think there is some romantic dreaming going on here...

I know more about Martinez than I can write here, but let's just say there should be an approach for him soon.

Can only see skybet offering odds at the moment, he is 10/1 at present.

Skybet do have 10/1. Williamhill have a market but don't have him on it, but i imagine if you e-mail them they will give you a decent price. I have emailed betfair but have not got a reply yet. Paddypower stopped taking bets very early on.

Ladbrokes are opening the market soon apparently. If you email care@ladbrokes.com they will give you the odds for who you want. Or give them a ring they will probably sort it our for you.

Hutton set to join Spurs, according to the official Rangers site.

It is understood that the transfer fee could top the £9million Sunderland paid to Hearts for Craig Gordon, which is the current Scottish transfer fee record.

Daft! Why any club would want a player who has previously turned them down only a few weeks ago is beyond me

Spurs always take forever to do a deal, so it's not down to the player. They try to srew all parties. I don't blame Hutton for waiting until it's right.

Rumours I heard, and I must stress it is a rumour. Rangers really need the money so offered Hutton a bigger slice of the transfer fee to complete the move, even though he wanted to stay.

Nicko will probably know better.

But if the fee could top £9m then I think it is bigger than the initial deal they offered.

Whitaker can play right-back for Rangers and is pretty good, so the deal makes sense for them.

I think the problem was at the Spurs end, how long they wanted before they paid all of the money etc. I think Hutton is getting a £1 million signing-on fee, so I think he would be pretty greedy to ask for money off Rangers. But, then again, it is pure profit and he might think he is worth a slice.

Either way, it's huge cash for a right back...and it's goodbye to Pascal Chimbonda.

So Keegan is effectively relegated to first team coach after 2 matches.

depends which way you look at it.

he now has a great management team around him. the days of 1 football manager doing everything at the club are numbered in the premier league.

He gets final say so on players, but gets to use people to look for players, present him with options, then do the deals. Sounds like the best of both worlds to me.

Sounds to me like Mike Ashley went with Keegan to please the fans, but really thought that Keegan had no ability when it comes to talent spotting/ transfer market, hence why he has brought 3 men in to do it for him!

Just found this, not conclusive but kind of backs you up.

BIG loop there mate.

VitalHull is only a small independant forum... which I go on. That is just like VitalFootball's version of a frontpage, like this site has...

Anyway... Nicko knows I'm from Hull and told me Hull were interested in Trotman a few months back... thats how they know he's been linked with Hull in the past... and that frontpage has just come about due to me mentioning on the forum that I doubt Hull will be getting Trotman because Plymouth have bid for him and Blackburn are interested... but that was before Nicko said another Championship club has bid for him... thats why my guess was Hull...

...and breathe

P.S. sorry for sharing the info with them Nicko... it's just they're quite a new forum and all the esablished Hull forums bait them for being the only forum without permission to have their own fans liason commitee meeting with the chairman... they're all really nice people on Vital, so I thought it'd be nice to give 'em something back at the others :)

He is money minded, moves on every few seasons for a new pay packet with signing on bonuses! No thanks!

Pascal is also from Guadeloupe, which is a pretty poor island, spent years in France at small clubs and was a late arrival here. If he likes his cash then I don't blame him. He has never given poor service to any club he has been at...

Why? Because Newcastle say so?

Pretty much every time joint managers or directors of football have been brought in it hasn't worked. Look how Avram Grant worked out at Chelsea for example. Brought in as a DOF and is the manager not too long after.

In Europe this system works as coaches are happy being coaches but over here the "manager" role is too ingrained in our game for it to be changed any time soon IMO.

Like virtually every DOF/Manager relationship I can see Wise and keegan falling out sooner or later

Totally agree - he also rarely ever gives up - no matter the score. Though I think I'd prefer Emerton.

I am beginning to wonder if Rovers are after anybody during this transfer window, apart from Flynn. If there is a take over in the pipeline, Hughes will not want to sign anybody on a long term contract. After all if Hughes has money to spend he'd want a better player than the ones available to him now. Concentrate on a top 6 finish and push next season for a higher place with new additions in the summer.

I bet Sparky is thanking his lucky stars right now. ;)

Apparently Wise is rushing around St James's shouting..."TAXI FOR MR KEEGAN!!!"
