Fife Rover Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Turned him down so many times now... He's a character. Just played in a ressie game - at his age. He always was a character!! Damned good player though. He was the one we feared the most when we played the original Aidrie, and I was very glad when Dunfermline signed him. Played a lot of good games for the Pars too.

AndyLR Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 One day left in the window usually means one thing. Danny Murphy will move somewhere. He only ever seems to appear on deadline day. In fact I don't even know where he's playing now. Is it Fulham?

dj54nna Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 One of our best players this season. Which is probably why you're not winning all that much :/
John Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Been away for a couple of days, so not sure if anyone posted this on Diarra. Quite interesting too see that he was out of Villa's reach as well. Makes me feel a bit better about it! Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill "When the agents for Lassana Diarra, who is a good player, told us what they were looking for, I just couldn't do it and I dismissed it."
Spansterkid Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 This game is a shocker. For any pedants out there... Presty On Tour Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 it could be man city, newcastle, or aston villa who are after defoe... tom huddlestone looks to be playing centre back tonight...surely with his passing skills he should be playing in midfield.. tainio could be worth a bid for aswell.. huddlestone also played centre back on sunday in the cup against manchester united. he didn't look to comfortable in that position though many experienced centre backs would have problems with united front line of attack.
PAFELL Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Famous last words I assume the free agent is a midfielder...knowing us it could easily be a bloody keeper Hope it is not worse than that, such as Hartson !!!!!!!!!!!
rover6 Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 At £1.25m Wayne Routledge has to be the steal of the transfer window. He doesn't seem to have established himself anywere despite knocking around the premiership for some time, but I can't help thinking that with a bit of Spark-esque guidance he could become a top quality winger. Lennon was signed to back-up Routledge but injuries reversed that arrangement. Fantastic signing by O'Neill. Remember how well Milner was playing at Villa? Expect Routledge to start fulfilling his potential if he can get into Villa's team.

Remember how well Milner was playing at Villa? Expect Routledge to start fulfilling his potential if he can get into Villa's team. Who's he going to replace though? Agbonlahor? Or will they play Agbonlahor upfront with Carew with Routledge and Young on the wings? The latter i presume...

I'd rather have Emerton playing right wing than Routledge..he's soo average
Mozzer Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 nicko..this player who is a free agent-could he improve blackburn, or would he just be making the numbers up??? what position does he play???? id be a disappointed if we didnt sign anyone-its clear we are short in areas..
Alan75 Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 As far as Rovers go there is no pressure, apart from fan bragging rights, to sign anyone. Why pay inflated transfers, we arent going to get relegated, therefore if there is no Rovers activity in the transfer market in the next 24 hours there is no loss. Save the money for any summer bargains.
benlloninho Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 What's this I hear about Afonso Alves not going to Boro after all ?
RevidgeBlue Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Save the money for any summer bargains. It's all very well saying that now but you may recall we took some pride at this time last year in getting busy because we correctly anticipated that prices would rocket in the summer with clubs (apart from us) chucking loads of Sky money about. With another tranche of TV money waiting to be spent in next season's budget, why should it be any different this summer? The old "keeping the powder" dry line sounds like a convenient excuse to indefinitely put off spending any money to me.
BRFCGrez Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 nicko - I know this may take a while but can you give any news on Prem and Champ teams tomorrow - though I'm Rovers through and through, I'm a pure football fan and interested in any deals that may go through tomorrow. Cheers fella.

Totally agree - anyway recently Mark Hughes has been speaking about Gally, maybe he has plans to use him, instaed of buying a player, which maybe explain why he has not gone out on loan.
Alan75 Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 I can agree with your view rb but with the transfer fees being quoted at the moment, for bit part players are we not just throwing money away. Come summer, Hughes might ok big might have scouted out another player of suitable quality that may be on a bosman.
USRoverME Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Nicko, the free agent, isn't an american is he? It would be a postiional fit, but a step too far if its the play I'm thinking of that's a free agant and looking to come across the pond.

nicko Posted January 30, 2008 Author Posted January 30, 2008 Landon Donovan? More chance of Lonnie Donnegan...
American Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 What's the nationality? Or at least is he from a nation who's league hasn't started playing yet? (Oh, and I was reading a Dilbert comic today that reminded me of you putting the dictionary/thesaurus definition up!)
