BURNLEY - Argie move is off. Full details to be kept back until Sunday. Quite a situation. Not happy. Lafferty won't go, but there will be arrivals.

Front Page again?...just think of the Blackburn sales!

i still think Roberts is going to go in this window, i think Bolton or now maybe Portsmouth will come in for him.

I really do hope Hughes has someone lined up if Roberts does go because i think we only have Santa up front, with benni out of form and Derbyshire is just not good enough

i cant see hughes letting roberts go if he doesnt have a replacement-thats always been hughes' policy..he wont let any leave that will weaken us..getting rid of roberts and having no replacement would certainly weaken us..

the savage sale anyone? if hughes is living up to his policy, he will get a midfielder in to replace him for certain but with the dateline on the horizon.... or hughes has broken his own transfer policy?

Pompey have been put up for sale today if certain parts of the press are to be believed.

Pompey are going for Defoe - so won't want Bennie.

Benjani having medical at Man city - so they don't want Bennie

Bolton - well who knows, they may want Bennie - but Hughes will say 'not for sale' as Bennie not interested in championship league :brfcsmilie:

Only deal I could see us making is Roberts out- Bolton or Pompey might fancy it - and then Koumas in.

Up front I don't think we would be too light without him. He has hardly played for us and we have a lot of attacking minded midfielders.

Wouldn't be too bothered if it didn't happen though.

I'll go along with the "not bothered if we don't sign anyone" crowd. Would I like to have strenghtened the midfield, certainly. but Other than perhaps Diarra, I haven't seen anyone avilable that would definitely be a better fit than what we';ve got at a price that would be considered less than "insane". Would I love to make top 4, sure. But would I want to spend insane money for a slightly better chance of reachign the top 4 than we currently have... no thanks.

I am Hoping we get Koumas.I think he's a good little player.

Whenever he is brought on at Wigan he looks there best player by miles. And with Santa Cruz and Mccarthy to supply for i think he'd do well.

If we had known that Liverpool (It's our year this year!) and Totteringham were gonna be a laughing stock this season, more money spent in the summer could have gone a long way... but hindsight is 20/20 I s'pose. Rather duke it out with teams (Man City,Pompey, Villa) not entirely used to getting a place in Europe. Actually I don't know what I meant by this post. Nevermind.

If Hughes doesn't do something (anything) to address the midfield situation I will be massively disappointed. Looking at our options:

DUNN - I like Dunn (don't we all), but how many of the teams around us would he get into? I doubt he'd be first XI for any of them.

REID - I had doubts about him before the injury, and even more now. Big, powerful, athletic - But unfortunately not remotely talented.

MOKOENA - Mr Inconsistency. Truly a risk to have on for 90 minutes given his passion for wild challenges. Also - Currently in Africa.

TUGAY - A total legend, but at 37 can't be expected to play every game.

I thought we were in dire need of a midfielder even before Savage left, but now it really is beyond a joke. I refuse to believe that in an entire month the Blackburn staff have been unable to find one midfield player to bring in - Even on loan (which seems to be happening left, right and centre elsewhere). And at the moment our most likely "target"? - Jason Koumas. A journeyman amongst lower-league/Championship clubs. We're 5 points from the Champions League! Surely we have to aim higher.

There's still time left. Come on Sparky...

Right. Been out and about.

BOLTON - Signing a Championship squad striker on loan - maybe - to replace Anelka. Farce. They haven't even got it sorted yet. Probably Earnshaw, possibly Stead. By the way Cahill will be playing for his third club when he starts for them...he has turned out for Villa and Sheff U. MakeS the whole Amdy Faye and Daniel Cousin 'you can't do that, mate' stuff look a bit silly.

BENJANI - Going to Man City. Oh, you knew that last night. You won't believe the price.

DEFOE - Portsmouth trying. Want him in or Benjani move may fall.

SPURS - Obviously want to sign a striker before Defoe goes.

EVERTON - Letting Alan Stubbs go to Derby...might be a scoop as we stand

BURNLEY - Keep the sneers coming...see some faces in the morning - and beyond!

ROVERS -
