joey_big_nose Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 The fact that there has not been much quality available is a fair point. Out of the moves the only players I would have gone after for the money paid were Diarra, Routledge and Maldonardo (can't believe Fenerbache got the latter for 1.5m. Mental. Just the sort of character and player we need too). THe transfer market has gone mental. And whats the deal with Sunderland siging Andy Ried - already to be shown to be poor at this level by two clubs (charlton and Tottenham) - for 4m? And they already have Richardson.... bizarre. There has been a couple of mentions of Sean Davis perhaps being available to move. Not the player he once promised to become but would be a much better alternative to Mokoena. I think Redknapp would be too canny to let him go for the 1m we would be willing to pay though.

brfcshabba Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Any reason why Derbyshire isn't in the U21s?
LeftWinger Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Any early news on the England squad Nicko?
nicko Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 Any early news on the England squad Nicko? Since Terry Butcher was linked with the Scotland management team I turned my back on international football...
Cocker Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Since Terry Butcher was linked with the Scotland management team I turned my back on international football... Thats a no then
trs Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Any reason why Derbyshire isn't in the U21s? Demoted or PROMOTED?
brfcshabba Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Demoted or PROMOTED? You would think Derbyshire is better than Luke Moore, unless Derbyshire is injured...
Exiledfan Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Right. Been out and about. BOLTON - Signing a Championship squad striker on loan - maybe - to replace Anelka. Farce. They haven't even got it sorted yet. Probably Earnshaw, possibly Stead. By the way Cahill will be playing for his third club when he starts for them...he has turned out for Villa and Sheff U. MakeS the whole Amdy Faye and Daniel Cousin 'you can't do that, mate' stuff look a bit silly. BENJANI - Going to Man City. Oh, you knew that last night. You won't believe the price. DEFOE - Portsmouth trying. Want him in or Benjani move may fall. SPURS - Obviously want to sign a striker before Defoe goes. EVERTON - Letting Alan Stubbs go to Derby...might be a scoop as we stand BURNLEY - Keep the sneers coming...see some faces in the morning - and beyond! ROVERS - What were you going to say about us Nicko? As for the dingles, they're leaving it late if they hoping to have "some faces" in by the morning (I assume the plural implies more than one).
LeftWinger Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Demoted or PROMOTED? If he's in the first team squad the worlds gone mad - although I wouldn't have Kitson in contention either.
PAFELL Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 I am Hoping we get Koumas.I think he's a good little player. Whenever he is brought on at Wigan he looks there best player by miles. And with Santa Cruz and Mccarthy to supply for i think he'd do well. Interesting point - Koumas has never had decent players to supply to - apart from Bellamy when playing for Wales ( hughes would know this from his time as Wales manager) Santa Cruz, Mccarthy as well as Bentley always create space for them selves, which Koumas could exploit. Alan Stubbs has gone to Derby. Beckham not in England squad - opens door for Bentley.
G Somerset Rover Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Unless he's injured, Derbs must be in the first team squad given that he starts every game under Pearce. I'm amazed if he is in the first team squad though given his lack of games for us. BTW Lennon is in the under 21's so Bents must definitely be in the squad.
LeftWinger Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 What were you going to say about us Nicko? I think the blank space was to show that there doesn't appear to be anything happening with Rovers.
trs Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 If he's in the first team squad the worlds gone mad - although I wouldn't have Kitson in contention either. Totally agree
Cocker Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 As much as I like Derbs I still stand by only first team regulars should get called into the England squad.
nicko Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 Thats a no then That's a don't care...especially on a day when there are moves going on. 30-man squad. I'd be upset if you were a player NOT included.
nicko Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 I think the blank space was to show that there doesn't appear to be anything happening with Rovers.
Cocker Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 30-man squad. I'd be upset if you were a player NOT included. Thanks for that, I will get my boots out and give them a polish then
Exiledfan Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Always amazes me that so much happens on the last day - or not in our case.
modes98 Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Demoted or PROMOTED? Ian Wright has been calling for derbs to be promoted and says he thinks he is a very talented player.
trs Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Gallagher in demand http://www.eatsleepsport.com/articles/686714.html
Cocker Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Ian Wright is a cock. Agreed. He was shouting for SWP to be in the England team when he wasnt even playing in Chelski's team
trs Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Since Terry Butcher was linked with the Scotland management team I turned my back on international football... Absolutely amazes me how the likes of Butcher and Pearce get top managment/coaching jobs in International football. Are these two not failures in such jobs?
T4E Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Usually around 20% aren't they? I'm still to this day utterly confused as to why we sold Garner. He went away on loan last season, and showed he could score goals at that level. Why did we send him out on loan? Surely it was to see if he could cut it at that level, before bringing him back and perhaps giving him a chance this season. We did the same with Derbyshire. So why then did we sell him? Would we have been short of potential suitors if we wanted to loan him out? Unlikely. He must have been on minimal wages. Did we really need £150k that badly?
rossyste Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 nicko are we yet at "the last dance at the disco"...................are we still looking to catch someones eye
