Kai Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Absolutely amazes me how the likes of Butcher and Pearce get top managment/coaching jobs in International football. Are these two not failures in such jobs? Think Pearce may still have potential to learn, but I just can't stand Terry Butcher. I mean I respect him as a player and all that he did for England, but his managerial record has been by and large shocking. Failed at Coventry, Sunderland, Sydney FC and Brentford. He only managed ok at Motherwell. Yet he still has a massive gob spouting off all and sundry about affairs that have nothing to do with him. (e.g. the constant slagging of England over recent times especially Beckham). It just seems stupid because he was such a great manager that we all should value his opinion.. oh wait...
Oklahoma Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Of all players transfered this month, only 3 would be really good for us (first team players for positions we need, central midfielders mostly): Manuel Fernandes, Maniche and Diarra. Anyone knows what is the situation with the Valencia players that got in trouble with Koeman? Maybe we can get Albelda on loan.
nicko Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 nicko are we yet at "the last dance at the disco"...................are we still looking to catch someones eye I think it's the Slumped In The Corner wallflower look. Sadly. Burnley have just pulled off an absolute beauty - if it's any consolation.
DudeAbides Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 woopie doo who cares about some 18yr old kid who wont do much anyway....
Nelsta Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Newcastle have signed some unkown italian striker. According to Roberto Mancini the striker(cant remember his name) could be in 6/7 years the best player in the world.
revolutionrock! Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Burnley have just pulled off an absolute beauty - if it's any consolation. Heard it all before Nicko , BURNLEY - Argie move is off. Full details to be kept back until Sunday. Quite a situation. Not happy. Lafferty won't go, but there will be arrivals.Deja Vu? --------------------- According to Roberto Mancini the striker(cant remember his name) could be in 6/7 years the best player in the world. Really helps them now doesnt it.
Craigman Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Mark Randall should be a good signing from Arsenal on loan for Burnley. Shame we didn't go for him !
nicko Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 Heard it all before Nicko , Deja Vu? Mark Randall. Arsenal. Midfield. Top drawer. Loan for the rest of the season. Last seen in boys club team that beat you 3-2 in Carling Cup.
revolutionrock! Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Mark Randall should be a good signing from Arsenal on loan for Burnley. Shame we didn't go for him ! I really dont belive that/ Why the (Please don't use that word again) do we not go in for players like him on loan. This transfer window is taking the ######. Cole and Randall v Flynn. Yawn? Premiership v Fizzy pop league. Heard it all before nicko.
T4E Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Mark Randall. Arsenal. Midfield. Top drawer. Loan for the rest of the season. Last seen in boys club team that beat you 3-2 in Carling Cup. I didn't think he was particularly impressive in that game. Went missing in a big way in the second half.
Jan Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Mark Randall. Arsenal. Midfield. Top drawer. Loan for the rest of the season. Last seen in boys club team that beat you 3-2 in Carling Cup. He's from Milton Keynes- they were talking about him on 5 live as I drove up to the cup game. Think he played ok against us.
DudeAbides Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 yes very much so, cole is finished, randall who cares... i mean seriously
revolutionrock! Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 I didn't think he was particularly impressive in that game. Went missing in a big way in the second half. Was good in parts , will be a good player in Champ. Randall= Young lad, will be brainwashed in the "room". Cole=old guy who hasnt been performing in 2-3 Years now
Torgeir Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Last seen in boys club team that beat you 3-2 in Carling Cup. Two weeks ago you would've wrote 'us' instead of 'you'... Still a few hours left of the window, I'm sure we'll pull off an amazing free transfer signing if we can't make anything happen before midnight. Randall or not, we're still better than Burnley.
spencey7 Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Think Pearce may still have potential to learn, but I just can't stand Terry Butcher. (e.g. the constant slagging of England over recent times especially Beckham). It just seems stupid because he was such a great manager that we all should value his opinion.. oh wait... Terry Butcher isn't in a management position, he's an assistant to George Burley, in charge of coaching players. That said, I for one have always been impressed with his honesty over England, Beckham et al - saying what much of the country believes but is never mentioned on MoTD with Lineker, Hansen and "The Cock". If you disagree with Butcher's comments, bury your head in the sand and don't listen to them - Keep believing that England are one of football's global superpowers... Anyhow, on topic. All the talk seems to be about players leaving - Gallagher, Rigters, Roberts... We're going to end up with Koumas aren't we.
1864roverite Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Defoe going to Pompy if ssn are to be beleived a fee is agreed who gives a flying cocks ar#e who burnley have sold/bought ?
revolutionrock! Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 who gives a flying cocks ar#e who burnley have sold/bought ? Nicko, so his bum chum is happy. If we end up getting Koumas i will be distraught.
nicko Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 Two weeks ago you would've wrote 'us' instead of 'you'... Still a few hours left of the window, I'm sure we'll pull off an amazing free transfer signing if we can't make anything happen before midnight. Randall or not, we're still better than Burnley. Never used 'us.' The new manager of Burnley has done quite well is really my point. And he still has bundles if he needs a player or two on loan. Wouldn't over-pay for Riordan, Lee, Chaplow and a couple of others. Robson wanted to go to Celtic. The Argie was a shame, but you get up and get on with it. He just did.
DudeAbides Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Defoe going to Pompy if ssn are to be beleived a fee is agreed who gives a flying cocks ar#e who burnley have sold/bought ? agreed its turning into the dingle board
disgruntled Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Oh how Nicko is loving the baiting of everyone on here, and yet people continue to pose questions and get upset with his replies. Hint, don't mention Burnley, then Nicko doesn't mention Burnley, its not hard to fathom.
