Burnley signing Mark Randal on loan from Arsenal sounds like a really good signing to me for them. To be honest if we had taken him on loan i would have been quite happy, he's not even close to being the finished article yet but from what a few Arsenal supporting mates of mine have said, they reckon he'll be starting for them in 2-3 years tops. To contradict myself though, he would probably just sit on the bench if we had gone for him anyway but just thought i'd mark him up as one for the future who's career might be worth monitoring.

Anyway as for us, glad to see Gally is back at a level where he is more comfortable than the Prem in Stoke, now its just hoping that JW/MH have been hustling the media and pull out a gem of a signing... hoping anyway.

For the guy who mentioned Seth Johnson, i believe from my mates back home, he is talks with Hull City about a deal there till the end of the season, so we can thank ourselves lucky that Phil Brown takes after Fat Sam in taking on past-it, injury prone players. Mills was more of an Adam Pearson signing... hence Mills being with him at Derby now.

Okocha & Pedersen are just making comebacks from injury and about to play big parts in Hull's season. Okocha scored for the reserves last night.

I heard Seth Johnson rumour this morning, now it's gone full circle and the rumour is...well, he isn't :lol:

Do you suppose the plan all along was to stick with what we have now - keep the squad together? Surely adding a couple of new players will unbalance the team, is that (and the crazy prices) what is being banked on?

When does the window open again? At the end of the season or nearer the beginning of the next?

Perhaps rather than bringing in players now Hughes and the board want to leave it till the new season so any signings can gel with the rest of the team during pre-season?

How long will other teams be disrupted with new arrivals? Long enough for us to gain any kind of advantage?

Who knows, it could all be very different in 12 months time.

Good to see how he fairs... didn't you say he was one of the few you though could maybe "make it", Nicko?

I've seen Rostyn a few times and he looks quite decent. Very tall lad compared to the rest of the reserves and uses it very well to protect the ball got good passing also. Hope he does well up there.

Okacha has been banging them in for the reserves for a while now though hasn't he TTIAR? Doubt he will ever be the signing to justify the amount of money City have been giving him a week as from what i understand they broke the rigid wage structure they've had since Pearson to bring in Henrik & Jay-Jay. Was quite sad to hear they'd shipped Stuart Elliot out on loan to Donny today as i remember before i left for university seeing him bang in goal after goal in league one that season at the K.C. Would love to see City make a late run and win the play-offs.

As for Rovers, if we do not sign anybody tonight, its not the end of the world. We've managed to do well enough this season albeit being a bit short on numbers at times.

I think he has talent, going to Gretna is a good move for the kid. Gets his knees dirty and also learns what playing with the big boys is about. He could come good if he sharpens up.

I thought Gretna had a bit of cash behind them?

If so , think they would be looking for players better than our reserves to save them?

Officially July 1st I think but as soon as the season finishes managers normally start buying. But they don't go through until July 1st.
