There have been four or five, none rated good enough. Some kids who may make it down the line, but not now.

But that seems to be the market, so the consequences dpwn the line are a little troubling.

What do you make of the apparent lack of interest in youth at Blackburn, or is what's happened with the release of the youth players just clearing of the decks?

Or perhaps younger players don't have the impact anymore and seasoned, well travelled old pros is where it's at?

Probably the worst transfer window ever, for us.

I burst out laughing at that one!!!

I suspect Ipswich are the fizzy pop boys who have done the best in this window- they nabbed our target remember?

Being dispassionate for a moment, I don't see that the dingles have moved decisively. Yes they might be better than they were pre-window but a lot depends on the 17 year old kid not getting kicked over the Longshaw by the likes of Barnsley.

Lets see how they go in the next three games- both ends of the table; WBA and Colchester then moneybags QPR. Anything less than 7 points and they are not straight promotion contenders, less than 4 points and they are really struggling for a play-off place.

To call the suicide watch off, this the BBC done deals tracker:

PREMIER LEAGUE TRANSFER TRACKER:

In: Bolton (Rasiak), Derby (Carroll, Stubbs), Fulham (Kallio, Litmanen, Stalteri), Sunderland (Reid), Wigan (Hagen), Tottenham (Gilberto)

Out: Arsenal (Gibbs, Randall), Bolton (Wilhelmsson, Michalik), Chelsea (Grant), Derby (Bywater), Everton (Stubbs), Fulham (Cook, Davis), Man City (Dabo, Miller), Middlesbrough (M Bates), Newcastle (Rozenhal), Reading (Henry, Pearce), Sunderland (Halford), Tottenham (Stalteri)

In all honesty, I am not sitting here all of a jitter because we missed out. That said I do say my prayers about Bentley, Reid and Dunn staying fit and avoiding suspension.

I think it's a shame that so much time and effort is spent on bringing in kids and yet none make the breakthrough.

I don't know why.

And, by the looks, I'm not alone in that.

Just thinking...

CHARLTON - sold best player and signed a half-fit winger and an average right back.

PALACE - signed nothing worth talking about, a former Rovers reserve.

STOKE - sold Eustace.

WATFORD - signed Bromby and Eustace.

BRISTOL CITY - nothing.

Burnley may have done rather well...

STOKE - Have stength in depth though and also got Gally.

WATFORD - Now have a Solid(ish) defence, a good midfield, but poor upfront now King has gone.

BRISTOL CITY - Bought Dele Adebola, who scored that dizzying goal against Rovers.

IPSWICH - Stephen Bywater, David Norris & the Macedonian Gerrard.

HULL - looks like they're just shipping out the deadwood and got Simon Walton in on loan for (1 month according to QPR - 6 months according to Hull  )

If it turns out to be a Hull Vs Burnley play-off final, can I cadge a lift off you to Wembley, Alan? :)
