Exiled_Rover Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 "My mate is Dennis Wise's nephew... he told me that Newcastle are planning a shock £9m move for David Bentley and that they will offer him a contract that is too good to turn down - believable?" BBC - 606 Apart from Rovers accepting a £9m bid, why not?

Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Gilberto must have had another medical because after failing one he has just signed for Spuds.
nicko Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 If it turns out to be a Hull Vs Burnley play-off final, can I cadge a lift off you to Wembley, Alan? Play-offs? Burnley? They will be up by then.
jannerman Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 I think it's a shame that so much time and effort is spent on bringing in kids and yet none make the breakthrough. I don't know why. And, by the looks, I'm not alone in that. Too much of a long term investment of sorts, perhaps the club want to make quicker, greater impacts? I think it's a shame, sounds like our youth setup is a pretty good one, just not sure if that is what is important in the English game anymore?
nicko Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 Gardner for Everton? Do you realise HOW good this thread is...
disgruntled Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Stroke Boy is now forgetting what he's been talking about. Obviously showing more signs of decline, memory loss can't be a good thing.
brfcshabba Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 As if it can't get much worse... they bring out Cascarino
Ben-2000 Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Sorry if i've missed something - but why is he called stroke boy (i presume you are talking about the guy on SSN)
nicko Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 Stroke Boy is now forgetting what he's been talking about. Obviously showing more signs of decline, memory loss can't be a good thing. Pardon? What are you talking about?
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Stroke boy just gave the best "what the hell is he talking about but I'll laugh along" look I've ever seen.
Blue n White Rover Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 £4m for Reid. Keane has to be the worst Manager in terms of buying/selling ever. Thats a shocker. Well He did rate Kenwyne Jones at 40 million!
disgruntled Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Andy Burton, likes to show off by pretending he has contacts in the game.
Exiled_Rover Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Gardner for Everton? Do you realise HOW good this thread is... I believe it may have been mentioned once or twice, yes.
Fife Rover Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 what rumour came out about an hour ago??? Where've you been Mozzer?
Blue n White Rover Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Gilberto - Spuds, good turn around
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 I don't think Nicko is going to give us any clues about the free agent.
Guest fernhurstblue Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Gardner for Everton? Do you realise HOW good this thread is... I realise how boring and 'same-old, same-old' this thread is becoming .....
nicko Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 I realise how boring and 'same-old, same-old' this thread is becoming ..... Couldn't agree more. :!:
b12_simon Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Gardner for Everton? Is that Simon Gardner mentioned on the chants thread
philipl Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 I realise how boring and 'same-old, same-old' this thread is becoming ..... I suspect Ipswich are the fizzy pop boys who have done the best in this window- they nabbed our target remember? Being dispassionate for a moment, I don't see that the dingles have moved decisively. Yes they might be better than they were pre-window but a lot depends on the 17 year old kid not getting kicked over the Longshaw by the likes of Barnsley. Lets see how they go in the next three games- both ends of the table; WBA and Colchester then moneybags QPR. Anything less than 7 points and they are not straight promotion contenders, less than 4 points and they are really struggling for a play-off place. To call the suicide watch off, this the BBC done deals tracker: PREMIER LEAGUE TRANSFER TRACKER: In: Bolton (Rasiak), Derby (Carroll, Stubbs), Fulham (Kallio, Litmanen, Stalteri), Sunderland (Reid), Wigan (Hagen), Tottenham (Gilberto) Out: Arsenal (Gibbs, Randall), Bolton (Wilhelmsson, Michalik), Chelsea (Grant), Derby (Bywater), Everton (Stubbs), Fulham (Cook, Davis), Man City (Dabo, Miller), Middlesbrough (M Bates), Newcastle (Rozenhal), Reading (Henry, Pearce), Sunderland (Halford), Tottenham (Stalteri) In all honesty, I am not sitting here all of a jitter because we missed out. That said I do say my prayers about Bentley, Reid and Dunn staying fit and avoiding suspension.
Hi Mack Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Nicko can you make up a transfer please? anyone!any feckin one
nicko Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 EVERTON have signed Fernandes. PORTSMOUTH about to land Defoe. MAN CITY to take Benjani. ASTON VILLA to get Chimbonda [probably but it's Daniel Levy time]. All four had bigger squads before January. Sorry, but it's been a bad window for Rovers.
