There's a long-term midfield target we are still pursuing. We tried to get him out in January but his club were unwilling to sell, so we'll have to wait until the summer on that one now.

We were also working on a striker but that won't be happening now either for similar reasons. So I don't expect to do any deals before the deadline, unless an opportunity suddenly presents itself that's too good to miss.

Rovers could try to get Kazmierczak from FC Porto on loan.

He hasn't been used this season, is a good midfielder and I think he can adapt well to Premiership.

He also wants to play to have a chance of being called for Euro 08

Right, off to the Pub now safe in the knowledge that we have the situation fully under control and that by the time I get back we will have hijacked Pompey's bid for Defoe and will have Huddlestone safely installed in midfield.

Youare supposed to drink AT the pub not BEFORE you get there. Sad situation really isn't it? I mean come on show a bit of backing for the Boss, we were within a stroke of Barcode nostalgia of losing him, champions league is NOT an impossible dream right now and we do squat for Sparky and the fans. It's ###### to me, never in recent memory have we shown such a lack of ambition IMHO. We could have sent a real statement of intent.
