yoda Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Went to Checco's in May for my birthday, was very good I felt! I like Checcos too, best tomato and garlic focaccia ever, could eat them all night. They now do chicken cacciatore spicy (with chillie) if you ask, loved it last time I had it. Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted August 17, 2015 Moderation Lead Posted August 17, 2015 A pal I went with had a steak, it looked superb! I had to make do with my spicy pizza which after a couple of pints sailed down my gullet! Quote

It's just not the same, Clayton street chippy mid 90's is still the holy grail of fish and chips for me. We used to go every Saturday before a rovers game and eat in. 1 Quote

Gav Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 (edited) Interesting that Kate Hollern is calling for councils to step up enforcement, does she not realise that trading standard departments have been decimated by the Tory cuts, if she doesn't she should! Edited August 18, 2015 by GAV Quote

Gav Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 (edited) Apparently The Pack (formerly The Packhorse) is in the final of a 'best pizza in England' award. I went about 18 months ago, it was very poor indeed, not an Italian in site, just loud Blackburn waiting on staff discussing what they did at the weekend. Maybe its improved now, changed its name even. Edited August 19, 2015 by GAV Quote
T J Hooker Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I dont mind the food at the pack but its about as authenitic as a can of Heinz spaghetti. Quote
thenodrog Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I dislike going out for Italian food tbh. I find it overrated and overpriced but I can make an exception for antipasto on a hot day with a glass of fine wine. Quote
