Sunday lunch at the Brown Cow in Chatburn yesterday.  Terrific, but you need to book, it was very busy which is always a good sign.

Never had a bad meal there. Always feel it's reasonably priced and an under-rated beer garden too!

I used to go to college with a lad whose parents ran it (1977 😁)

A very good friend of mine was a baker in Ozzy for years and we had many an argument. He always called the muffins.

Italian Orchard is always top notch if anyone is looking for something slightly fancy and tasty

Indeed it is, but Pinocchio’s, a member of the same group, is still “temporarily closed” due to an electrical fire, which must be three years ago now. It was always excellent there but it would seem it is never going to open again.

Is that the one at Walton le dale Ian? We used to go regular when we lived locally.

My mate raves about Italian Orchard.

There was a story in the LEP a few months ago saying that Pinocchios' reopening had been put back until early 2025 due to problems with delivery of some kitchen equipment. As I understand it, it is planned to reopen some time but not as yet.

Personally I have always liked their other restaurant, San Carlo at Much Hoole.
