Mike Graham Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Sirloin? Stuart, no it was at the Tower itself. There were lots of complaints on the day. Quote
Stuart Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Poor show. Being where it is, a place like that will rely on it's reputation to get punters in. Hard won and easily lost. Quote
thenodrog Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I think Stuart was making a joke. You should've gone to Salmesbury Hall. Quote
gumboots Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Going to the assheton arms on Sunday for the big 60 birthday bash. Hopefully it will be good Quote
Mike Graham Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Sorry, missed the joke......it's that time of the month. Should have gone to Samlesbury Hall instead. Quote

Bloody great it was...... Mind it's 20 years ago when I last lived near there so no doubt the owners have changed. Quote

Plenty of choice for Indian takeaways in that area to be fair! Quote

Willie Eckerslike Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Went to the newly-reopened Spread Eagle at Mellor yesterday evening after the match. Overall impression was good. Friendly welcome, broad choice of starters and mains, 4 real ales. Everyone in our group enjoyed their food. Higher than average prices but I would go again. Quote

Willie Eckerslike Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Many there Willie? We were booked in at half five. Bit tight for post-match but that was the only table they had free until after nine. Quote
Paul Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 For those who like to use The Dressers at Wheelton it was ablaze at 6.00am today. Flames 12-15 feet above roof apex. All three services present so hopefully no one injured. Quote
thenodrog Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 (edited) Just been on the local news on BBC breakfast. Just the dressers or the Chinese too? Edited April 24, 2014 by thenodrog Quote
Paul Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 The main fire appeared to be at the end of the building further from the main road. I'd guess the whole place would be damaged and out of use for sometime. My lad was at school and I think is still friendly with the couple who run the Chinese. We also vaguely know the folk who live next door. Fingers crossed for all these people Quote
ABBEY Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Bad news. Re Dressers I don't know what it was like but when i used to live in Brinscall it was a right posers place with no marks who thought they were royalty. Quote
