USABlue Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Our performance will be an acid test of where we are at, or more importantly where the players are at mentally. Was it coincidence that one of our more solid performances in recent weeks was mid transfer window? Maybe it was Nelsens absence. My thoughts are the players played more to their potential due to the window, now that it is slammed shut and there is no more competition for places let's see how they are this week. I predict a slip back to playing at their own comfort level. I know we will be missing Samba but I am one fan who will be watching (well hoping to be) the level of commitment from the players, I think that will tell us a lot, and I am not expecting great things.

USABlue Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 plastic scouser Mike "I`m a ginger ####" Parry, who recently said 'town clubs should not be allowed into the Premiership, it should be for big city clubs only'. Interesting comment, from some of the things I see in the form of "officating" I think that view maybe shared by the FA too and I am not saying we are exclusive in that. Some of the other less sexy clubs seem to suffer from strange things too. I am also certain that Sky and several Pundits share that same train of thought judging by the way they cover games.
B.R.F.C Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Massive game for both us and Everton and one we need to win to get in the mix for the CL and Uefa cup places. Everton without Yakubu, Yobo, Pienaar, and possibly Cahill and Osman so we have a big chance to capitalise. I'd expect us to lineup: -----------Friedel------------ Emerton-Zurab-Oojier-Warnock Bentley--Dunn--Reid---MGP ---------Roque-Benni-------- Benni may get the nod to start up front and I hope he does because that extra bit of quality may be majorly important for us tomorrow. 2-0 Rovers I reckon...I hope However knowing Rovers and having any kind of expectation kills us so we will probably lose.
Presty On Tour Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 i agree with the side B.R.F.C posted above, it's probably the best selection with our injuries and suspensions. the game is going to be won or lost in midfield, everton's formation is similar to villa with 5 in there so we have to be competitive! i'm going for 1-0 rovers! nobody else but pedersen to score!
JAL Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Agree wholeheartedly with you JAL, but you have to forgive the sceptics who have been vindicated in the past when the players passion for the game didn't fit with the fans aspirations. I for one will be there after getting over my prostate op (though making frequent visits to the loo) I hope you dont miss any of the Rovers goals tomorrow, people have the right to be sceptical but for me this game is horses for courses ideal for Blackburns thoroughbreds i'd be absolutely gobsmacked if this isnt going to be a favourable course for Rovers tomorrow. Really looking forward to a positive MGP performance along with Dunny, Reidy and Bents cant wait.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Looks like the game could be called off with the snow overnight.
doowe Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Looks like the game could be called off with the snow overnight. How bad is the snow around Ewood?
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Bad enough....keep looking at official site.
philipl Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Easy for me to say this (20 degrees and sunny here) but nothing on any web site suggesting there could be a risk of the game not happening.
doowe Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Easy for me to say this (20 degrees and sunny here) but nothing on any web site suggesting there could be a risk of the game not happening. Philip, do you ever go over to Sciliy? i have friends and family there.
RovertheHill Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 North Manchester and there is snow on the ground which is rare. When I used to live in East Lancs whatever the snow was like it Manchester it was always worse there. Be an interesting journey if it is on, and even more interesting on the car parks
thebigguy Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Bad enough....keep looking at official site. Only problem i see is if they melt the snow instead of moving it on to the sides. As this could cause ice if it gets colder later on. Otherwise i can see it being fine
Hasta Posted February 2, 2008 Author Posted February 2, 2008 Whilst it is snowy, it's not going to get any worse between now and kick off. If it was to be called off surely they would do it earlier than this.
adopted scouser Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Ozz if you needs a bodyguard, I am in my normal seat after my op As long as you don't have to chase anyone The son in law thinks he's dreaming at the moment, Toffees can't stop winning games and Liverpool are in turmoil. Bragging rights are definitely placed in the blue half of town. Ewood will be full for a change, and I'm going for a draw 1 - 1.
adopted scouser Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Is that a dig at his knee, or something else ? Let's just say Warren always wins at seesaw
1864roverite Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Now then guys its nice to see concern regarding my well paid for beer belly !!! Seriously, my knee is a lot better and knowing Ozz has had issues with EFC fans before I simply offered an old friend some assistance if the memories of his last visit to Goodison came back to haunt him ! see ya hobbling to the ground and hopefully he last time I escort my crutches into Ewood Park
ihtd Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 I hated going to Ewood after i had knee surgery last season, some of the people in the Blackburn End really didn't make it easy for me to navigate the concourse. Bet you cannot wait to get rid of the crutches now 1864roverite. Got a feeling we might just sneak a win against the run of play today with Everton having about 20+ shots and us popping up with an 89th minute winner thanks to big Jason Roberts. Blackburn 1 Everton 0 (Red card for somebody though)
tony gale's mic Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 i'm gonna go for a 2-1 rovers. we looked a lot better against villa, it was the first match in ages that we looked pretty good almost the entire match. will be a tough one though.
Ricky Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Tough game which we need to win really, need a top level performance from all of our players to get anything at all. Everton have been pretty good recently and they will see this as winnable. Not confident today.
Nelsta Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Samba and Nelsen both out......rovers 0 - 3 everton.Long day for rovers today.
T4E Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 I really thought this game was on telly tomorrow We'll lose anyway, Everton are much better than us.
greggyk Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Samba and Nelsen both out......rovers 0 - 3 everton.Long day for rovers today. Is that a bad thing?? Both Nelsen and Samba have been poor in recenlt months
