Exiled_Rover Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Irony of ironies. Rovers hired a top American sponsorship searcher and he found a company in Darwen. Best not have paid him much judging by the deal we've signed.

RevidgeBlue Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 And that's a bad thing because...? It's not a good thing from the sponsor's point of view if you're paying 1.7m p.a. for the privilege of being on the front of the shirt!
Tim Southampton Rover Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 True, we all know what happened when Hollywood tried to promote the new movie 'The Invisible Man' on the Barcelona shirt....
thenodrog Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Very large extension on my house almost completed..... So Crown paint it is then for the newly plastered walls.
Scotty Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Very large extension on my house almost completed..... So Crown paint it is then for the newly plastered walls. Who are you going to get to put the padding on?
Paul Mellelieu Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Who are you going to get to put the padding on? Stop it Scotty!
Roost Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 And that's a bad thing because...? .....because 'saharan whisper' from the new Crown 'lets give it a pretentious name' range of paint is a much nicer colour
jim mk2 Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Very large extension on my house almost completed..... So Crown paint it is then for the newly plastered walls. Your house already has 4 toilets, how many bogs does a man need ?
mattym Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 And our new kit for next season could be NIKE according to this !! http://cmonyuirons.com/2008/03/13/pic-west...land-and-wigan/
modes98 Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 No it will still be Umbro But Umbro are owned by Nike, so effectively they are Nike kits. Anybody know if the sponsor will be the traditional stick on plastic rubbish or will we be incorporated it into the fabric/got a retro furry, sticky out patch(ala McEwans Lager).
AndyC Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Considiering Spurs get 30 mill+ from Mansion and they are a similar team to our selves should we be happy with 5mill over 3 years? are you being serious? they have about a million fans in this country and many more around the world. Much as I hate them, to put us in the same bracket from a sponsorship point of view is crazy!
CAPT KAYOS Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Better all hope that the performance are not akin to watching paint dry.... 2nd thoughts are we not sponsored by them already
joey_big_nose Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 To get perspective on whether this is going to generate more funds for us, what was the annual money brough in per annum on the Bet24 deal?
Lee Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 According to what Lee from the official site has stated many a time, Rovers have to literally go cap in hand when sponsorship time comes around! I wouldn't call it cap in hand, we get as much as we can, but sponsorship is a highly competitive market, I believe there are something like seven Premier League clubs searching for new shirt sponsors for the 2008/09 season, therefore it is something of a feather in our caps that we are one of, if not the first team to secure new sponsorship for the forthcoming season. DunnFC: if you know someone who wants to give us £30m for a five year sponsor deal, please pass on their details.
waggy Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 No, but the industial paints side is earmarked to move abroad (109 jobs in total) though the local usless New labour MP is putting a protest forward trying to prevent this from happening. out off those 190 i wonder if there is any rovers fans

waggy Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 it's great advertising for a company, every game featured on tv one way or another.how much does a advert cost on tv???????????????????????????
Backroom trueblue Posted March 13, 2008 Backroom Posted March 13, 2008 out off those 190 i wonder if there is any rovers fans It doesn't matter how many Waggy... the 190 work for Akzo Nobel, not Crown Paints
Ben-2000 Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Very strange...Crown paints, if sold, may be taken over by a firm who don't want to keep the name going... what then?!
Hughesy Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Think it is currently just under £1m a year so its about a £650k increase per season. To get perspective on whether this is going to generate more funds for us, what was the annual money brough in per annum on the Bet24 deal?
cletus Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Your house already has 4 toilets, how many bogs does a man need ? Well, alot of people would probably say he spouts alot of s###, maybe it`s medical problem he`s got?
Wolverine Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Very strange...Crown paints, if sold, may be taken over by a firm who don't want to keep the name going... what then?! A great big whopping bank space where the sponsor should be? Wishful but here's hoping...
mattym Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 According to this the 3 year deal is worth between 4 & 5 million !! http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=82932
