Billy Castell Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 I heard the RAC man finished 7th in that race. Is there a race at Spa this season? No electronics+rain+the first corner=Fun and chaos.

AlanK Posted March 17, 2008 Author Posted March 17, 2008 Spa is in September If its rain you want then look no further than this Sunday. I think the race starts 7am our time but its afternoon in the humidity of Malaysia where rain is already forecast.
pg Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Do you think Massa wishes he still had traction control? I love it how the drivers were saying all winter that 'the lack of driver aids will make no difference'. And during testing.. there was little difference. But once the red lights go out and its racing time... then suddenly its a completely different kettle of fish. Racing will be much better for it. Suddenly guys like Massa won't look so great anymore. All F1 drivers are quick over one lap, but how many can be smooth and clean for 90 minutes on a Sunday afternoon whilst racing wheel-to-wheel? Hopefully Kimi can recover from his setbacks on Sunday to give Lewis a run for his money. Kimi drove brilliantly for the first half of the race.. and then suffered brain fade in the 2nd half. I think BMW will get closer to McLaren as the season goes on.. Nick should race better as the year goes on. A mate of mine at BMW says they found a season's worth of downforce at the last Barcelona test.
AlanK Posted March 18, 2008 Author Posted March 18, 2008 Hi PG. Are you still at Renault? I thought you were heading back to Oz.

Did you go to the race?
b12_simon Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 On an only-slightly off-topic note. Does anyone know if you can take your own beer into a GP?
AlanK Posted March 18, 2008 Author Posted March 18, 2008 We took a couple of cans each in our bags on each day at Silverstone. Not sure if you are allowed but we got away with it. You certainly wouldn`t get away with a 24 pack, put it that way.

AlanK Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 Lewis Hamilton was fasted in Friday practice. Rain is looking more and more of an issue for both qualfiying and the race. As Button said ( 4th quickest! ) " if it rains, all hell will break loose ". Will certainly be eventful.
Al Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Lewis Hamilton was fasted in Friday practice. Hopefully he will be given a light meal before the race.
Grabbi Graeme Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 F1 returns to the Beeb! Exellent. Reading in one of the Friday papers that the BBC are looking to link up Top Gear to it's F1 coverage, so i would imagine more F1 drivers will be doing a lap of the track in a Suzuki Liana or whatever it's called.
SAS Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport...one/7309223.stm Hamilton 4th on the grid Ferrari 1,2, and apparently they coasted it
AlanK Posted March 22, 2008 Author Posted March 22, 2008 Hamilton and his team mate have been demoted 5 places on the grid for blocking other drivers. Hamilton now starts 9th Not much hope for him in this one. His car looked poorly set up, maybe due to lack of experience and he was already struggling. Maybe some rain might mix it up. If not, expect Ferrari to walk this one.
Grabbi Graeme Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 A challenge for Hamilton but he will certainly have a go at it, I expect him to take some points from this race and as Alan says if it rains that will make it very interesting.
AlanK Posted March 30, 2008 Author Posted March 30, 2008 After last years scandals, Max Mosley ( big chief ) insisited that F1 would be scandal free this year. And then this! Unbelievable! I know its the NOTW but this guy won`t be taken seriously in the pitlane again. Bye Bye Max. Ron Dennis must be dying laughing.
philipl Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 The only surprise is that it has taken as long as it has to reach the red tops.
Billy Castell Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Well, his family has a history of liking things German and Italian. It would explain the leinient attitude to Ferrari over the years.
Presty On Tour Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 It says on the news tonight that he has been asked to stay away from the next grand prix, his future in the sport is in serious doubt.
AlanK Posted April 3, 2008 Author Posted April 3, 2008 The royal family in Bahrain requested that Mosley did not attend. He is now fighting for his job big time. Click
SAS Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 3 or 4 of the team have released statements about him too. He counter attacked them too Its pure comedy(the way they are at each other, not the allegation), surely he has to go now
AlanK Posted April 3, 2008 Author Posted April 3, 2008 3 or 4 of the team have released statements about him too. He counter attacked them too yep, in true Basil Fawlty style he mentioned the war! Click
