Nedved is just about the most unpleasant individual I have had the misfortune to have met in the past umpteen months.

The guy is completely shunned at Juve.

Ranieri just keeps a steely distance with every player so it doesn't matter that much and I know Hughes rightly keeps his distance from the players at Ewood. But everybody else would hate having him around.

How so? I always got the impression he was a decent guy. Granted I've only got this from interviews etc.

Just being with the Juve squad for a week on their winter camp- the guy was off the compass in terms of acceptable behaviour and attitude in terms of a team sport.

OK some stars act big towards people whom they don't perceive as stars but at least Nedved doesn't discriminate- he's like that towards the rest of the Juve squad as well. And its not done humorously.

The players that stand out the most to me on that list of free agents are the likes of Ivan Klasnic, Zlatan Bajramovic, Thiago Motta, Kanga Akale, Derlei, Tomas Ujfalusi and Maxi Rodriguez. Whether we end up signing any of these players or anyone else on that list is another thing. The wages of these players would be pretty signifcant. But I would like to think that we would chase a few quite big name players.

Steve Sidwell anybody? im still hoping we get that creative midfielder in though...im not sure where Stephen Appiah is at the moment, but he would be awesome in our midfield. :rover:

Appiah is still at Fenerbache I believe but he had a blood clot in his knee following surgery (something along those lines). When fully fit he's a cracking player though.

Fenerbache have assembled a cracking squad there. There are quite a few on thier books I would love to see at Rovers.

dont know if this has been posted already..i cant still be bothered to flip through 14 pages to check lol my apologies if it has been mentioned already

I watched Boral in the game against Chelsea (champs league) the other week, in what was a really poor game he stood out as being useful.

He had good control and a bit of skill, good crossing and a decent turn of pace.

I think more than anything he was more unpredictable than Gamst, he mixed it up a bit and had more variety.

Would be a very useful player to have, especially as good left wingers are few and far between. He's the right age too.

Blackburn are chasing midfielder Radoslaw Majewski and defender Dariusz Dudka from Polish sides Groclin Dyskobolia and Wisla Krakow respectively according to the BBC.

A variation on the Polish plumber?

Rovers have already quashed the Majewski rumour

Mind you, adding a Pole would help the attendances ;)

hi all,

did not know anywhere else to place this but if you follow the link below

could just be paper talk but alarmingly Man. Utd are lining up a 10m bid for Santa Cruz have to say if they come calling think Sparky turn them down as losing a top striker would really weaken us as McCarthy has been poor by his own admission this year and Roberts will never score 20+ goals a season and we would struggle I also hope like after his first successful season he doesn't do a Benni Mac and decide his future lies elsewhere and have his head turned I also look at Utd and they have like about 4 good strikers why would they need anymore Sparky if you do read this board don't sell him what ever you do as I already have his name and number on the back of my shirt as he is my fav. player and don't fancy having to get a different name on the back of another shirt

laters all.

Probably a bit of press specualtion on the back of a comment or two made by a manc loving journo. Of course Man Yoo want to sign Roque, how dare he play week in, week out for a small town club when he can be warming his backside on the bench at one of the 'big 4' ?

Was thinking earlier - would you like to see us sign a new central defender and maybe let one of Ooijer/ Zurab go? Maybe someone with abit more pace?

On a free or sell when they don't ask for a transfer = costs Rovers money + signing a pacy centre back = costs lots of money and reduces funds for elsewhere.

Keeping them = no cost to Rovers and money used to strengthen where we really need it.

Absolutely not. Both Zurab and Andre are top quality defenders and to replace them would cost a huge amount of money and then you cannot guarantee that what you buy would be an improvement. Selling either would weaken our squad. Central midfield and left midfield should be the areas that we spend the bulk of our money on. If there is any left over then I wouldn't mind a specialist right back being brought in to allow us to use Emerton in different areas when the need arises.
