Watching Cassano mess the Juventus back four around, would be the ultimate test of Hughes man management skills and a brilliant partner for Santa Cruz. A lot of trouble with Cassano, growing up in the streets of Bari before being taken in as a member of Totti's family when signing for Roma in a big-money deal. One of the best young forwards in the world when he's on form, both as a playmaker and a goalscorer. Will never happen, but in my opinion he's the type of player we need - pace, skill and bags of creativity.

There's loads of players we could list who are just the type of player we need, barely worth mentioning if there's zero chance of them coming though.

No chance, unfortunately, Sampdoria have already agreed a price with Madrid and he is prepared to take a wage cut to join them permanently.

He's a class player though.

I hope Mark Hughes is keeping tabs. If we aren't interested, then we should be. An out and out finisher.

Fantastic shout.

Striker is not a priority (unless Roberts leaves) but this guy could do the business.

Loving the editing of Farfan's wiki page. If there is one player out there that 1) would come to Blackburn 2) Could add pace, flair and width to our attack then it is Farfan. But loads of clubs have to be interested.

You reckon? I think he's rubbish. Didn't really do the biz at Burnley and is nothing like done was IMO...

He was only there for seven games or so, you can't really judge him on that.

I've always liked Whittingham, I was never too sure why Villa let him go. However, I'd take Ledley over Whittingham every time from that Cardiff team, I think he's a cracking player.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will swoop for Blackburn striker Roque Santa Cruz if Emmanuel Adebayor leaves to join Barcelona. (The Times)

%^#%@"$@# :angry2:

I wouldnt mind if it was published in NOTW, but in the Times...........:angry2:

Would all depend on the club anyway. Roque said in the interview he gave recently that it was up to the club what happened to him. In other words he's not pushing for a move. Might take it if the club thinks it's good value to sell him but he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to go on strike or make things awkward if we say no.

I thought we might keep Berner on tbh.

Do you think this means MH is happy with Olsson, Treacy and Peter as left sided back-up, or is planning to do a lot of shopping in that area?

Dunno if Hughes is happy but it does confirm that Berner's a lump of kronk!

Berner has done his job and wasn't needed often as cover on the left which he was brought into provide. Remember there was a risk we'd bought an injury-prone crock in Warnock which thankfully hasn't turned out to be the case.

I think it is a clear vote of confidence in Olsson and perhaps indicative that Dunn and Peter are also seen as OK cover on the left if both Warnock and MGP are out at the same time.

They believe Olsson is our top young talent at the moment so its only right they give him the chance to be the 1st choice back-up. Maybe give him a couple of cup games too.

Im glad with the releases so far - however id also like to see Gallagher let go as he has just not been mentioned in the last 18 months.

Glad tugay has been offered a player/ coaching role - very fetching and he can still play 6-8 games a season against the weaker teams.
