BRFC1995 Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 It just gets worse as the vacuem left as we have no manager seems to have scuppered binning off missalot roberts to cardiff according to sky sports! Get a manager in but not any manager(allardyce, goes without saying McClown) in before some mug bids for axe or dunn or reid or McCarthy or a.n other poor player!

FourLaneBlue Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 This is hardly a blockbuster signing being proposed but Nolberto Solano has been released on a free by West Ham and is 33. I always liked him as an attcking player. Might be a way to bring a relatively cheap squad player as he has bags of talent. I presume West Ham wanting him off their wage bill although flying off to all the South American qualifying games might be a problem. There has been nothing much to suggest we have any money unless we sell players so we might need to be looking in the bargain bins... West Ham release veteran Solano
philipl Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Solano is not a bad shout if we ever get a manager! Meanwhilst, a Newcastle rag is cock-a-hoop that rovers have finally dropped their unterest in signing Amdy Faye.
T4E Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Solano is not a bad shout if we ever get a manager! Meanwhilst, a Newcastle rag is cock-a-hoop that rovers have finally dropped their unterest in signing Amdy Faye. Not Amdy Faye. Abdoulaye Faye. Completely different player, and not one that I even thought we were in for. Methinks someone has got themselves mightily confused.
FourLaneBlue Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 Well...now that we have a manager we can get back to discussing transfers! The worrying thing is that the newspapers are publishing links of our players to other clubs in the main rather than players coming to us! Could be leaving? Bentley - The most likely to go after his televised comments. Spurs most heavily linked so far? Man City to follow Hughes? Newcastle even in case he has burnt his bridges and cannot get anyone else to buy him? Santa Cruz - Linked heavily to Man Utd (he was quoted as saying they had been in touch) and is now being linked with Arsenal as a possible Adebayor replacement should he move to Milan. Samba - Linked with a move to Man City to follow Hughes...possibly as a replacement for Richard Dunne should he leave most likely to Portsmouth. Friedel - Reports of a move to Villa. Very unlikely I would suggest. We wouldn´t get much for a 37 year-old yet the loss to our club would be immense. Our older statesman of the squad. Ooijer - Not really first choice under Hughes which he publicly stated his dislike of but as our only players in the Euros...more games to come for him? Linked with a move back to The Netherlands. Gallagher - In the last chance saloon...yet again! Could be arriving? Keith Andrews - Irish lad at MK Dons rumoured to be following Ince to Rovers...for 2 million! Olivier Kapo - Rovers apparently ready to battle West Ham for his signature. Hammers V Rovers for Kapo Hopefully now that we have a manager we can look to bringing new faces in. It seems Bentley will be leaving while Tribal Football (never the most reliable source admittedly) suggest he has already talked to Santa Cruz to persuade him to stay. Seems to have accepted Bentley will be off... Sunday Express - Ince´s first tasks at Blackburn
Roversider Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 If Bentley leaves I hope that there isn't too big a sell on clause from L'Arse and that the funds are made available to strengthen the squad, or at least a large proportion. I'd be happy to see him go to Spurs with Huddlestone and Lennon coming up the M6. Really need a big push to keep Roque, much easier to replace a right winger than a 20 goalks a season striker. Samba? Wasn't quite so awesome last season, if there is a big enough fee ...... We do need a central midfielder and maybe a winger if Bentley does move on. The rest depends on who we keep.
American Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 From reading what Nicko said about the performance clauses we've already had to pay Arsenal (he said we've paid over 3 million total now), I doubt even more now that there is a sell-on clause.
FourLaneBlue Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 The only place that a rumour of a sell-on clause has come from is here and philipl was only guessing then. There has not been, I think, anything to suggest that this clause exists. There have been remarks relating to JW and the board believing they got their fingers burnt with the Bellamy clause and so are very reluctant to go down the route again-

Majiball Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 who does the ruskie play for that scored first goal yesterday? if he famous leve me alome im ###### haha...he looked like a sheraer Here you go Abbey http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Pavlyuchenko Personally Arshavin has 10M euro release claus, you never know? and Jimmy Bullard! Giles Barnes at Derby
ABBEY Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 Arshavin................ no not him ...i meant the first goal scorer..paulkoshevhinnnnnko?
LeChuck Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 He put a link to the player you're on about, he just mentioned Arshavin's release clause because it's fairly cheap and therefore Pavlyuchenko should be available for a reasonable fee.
Majiball Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 Arshavin................ no not him ...i meant the first goal scorer..paulkoshevhinnnnnko? try hitting the link ABBEY, he's the one your on about, not arshavin!
thenodrog Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 Might be worth a go. Dawsons awful. The new Titus! Don't worry Incey will be leaving no stone unturned looking for new players on here...... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...v_3/default.stm
BuckyRover Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 Dawsons awful. The new Titus! Don't worry Incey will be leaving no stone unturned looking for new players on here...... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...v_3/default.stm It's strange that you think that. Don't you think that most of his career was spent in the Premiership, Serie A and International football? Or do you think in his 1 1/2 year managerial career he has lost his mind? (Even though he has achieved every managerial expectation that has been put in front of him (Unlike Hughes; not qualifying for Euro 2004 or the UEFA cup this year))
FourLaneBlue Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Blackburn Rovers offer Kewell lifeline "Paul Ince has been named as the new manager at Ewood Park, and the former England international wants to make Kewell his first signing. "
ewoodturf Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 If I was Ince I would be in for a couple of those Russians, Arshavin is one, he looks a really useful player. I also liked the one who was taking the 30 and 40 yard shots at goal a new Tugay there I believe sorry not sure on his name. I also think Jimmy Bullard is a good shout. Can't say I'm excited by the new boss or the looming start of the season. But a couple of great looking signings and Roque staying would get me more excited!

Eddie Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Blackburn Rovers offer Kewell lifeline "Paul Ince has been named as the new manager at Ewood Park, and the former England international wants to make Kewell his first signing. " ...that would inspire me just about as much as...well Paul Ince being named the new Blackburn Rovers manager.
krislu Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 ...that would inspire me just about as much as...well Paul Ince being named the new Blackburn Rovers manager. Nothing wrong with signing old friends who are still in the Premier League. Is there more of these players? Macca still playing?

If you're going to suggest something as silly as signing Arshavin, you should at least try and bit more inconspicuous by using a smaller font...
Rovermatt Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Yeah Arshavin's a good shout. We should try snapping up Sergio Ramos for right back and Torsten Frings for central midfield while we're at it...
